Occasionally on Monday and Tuesdays I listen to a football phone-in on Radio Merseyside because it's a good way to get some of the gossip going around Liverpool about the football. I was listening yesterday and happened to have the phone in my hand and thought "what the hell" and rang up. Didn't expect to get through and left my name and number anyway. Got called back and had a brief chat about the Andy Johnson transfer. I was very nervous but I think I was okay. Felt old and grouchy ringing up a radio show about football, but still quite enjoyed it.

So have you ever been on the radio or television? Ever wanted to?

Ps. For anyone interested, it's not available on the iPlayer, so you can forget trying to listen to me make a fool out of myself =p

Was on Radio last year when our Journo group went to BBC South West for a visit and they got us to make a vox pop. Ended up talking about Squid and it's value to the local economy and trade which makes me more old and grouchy than you.

I believe you, but it sounds like something I'd say to make it sound like I was a guest when I was actually in the audience:p

I LOVE Oprah. Just don't tell anyone.

Were you a guest or an audience member or what?

I call into Toledo and Columbus radio often. They let me talk on the air often. It's nice till they cut you off.

Oh, and our class was on CNBC once.

Yeah, I wasn't even in the audience. My principal was on there to talk about some kid that used to go to our school. I was in like, the third grade, so I don't even remember what was so special about him.

ANYWAY

Oprah's people came to film us running around and playing, but they couldn't show our heads for legal reasons or something. They got a shot of me walking around with my arms out trying to be a basketball hoop.

One of my friends used to do a little music show on his uni's radio station once a week. Once on my birthday he gave me a little shoutout and played a song I requested. It was kinda weird hearing my name on the radio, but it was awesome.

I was on radio in 2007 with my band doing a radio battle of the bands contest, got interviewed the whole works. We won aswell which was awesome.

I was on tv 13 years ago aged 7 when my parents were interviewed ona current affairs type show about people who moved from Dublin to the West of Ireland. When your 7 being interviewed for tv is cool. Since I've been one of those randomers you see on TV being asked on the street what you think about the news and such.

:D Yay New Zealand-Norway stuff!

I've been on the radio a few times doing the "shout-out" thing they did back in NZ, where people can say quick messages to other people in the city. A lot of people I knew did that at the time, so yeah.

Jessweeee (four E's is it? Oh, forgot the ♪), I have just wrong problem with your story. I'm not trying to compromise its credibility but it sounds like the producers are idiots.

Why did they go to your school only to blur your faces, if it would've been cheaper to film at a school closer to Chicago and blur their faces?

Did they HAVE to go to your school? I'd be interested in hearing why Oprah had your principal on the show. Did he like sleep with a student or something?

They didn't blur our faces, we were shown from just the shoulders down. No faces to blur :p

They were talking specifically about a student that went to our school, so that's why they were there (it's in a village only a couple of hours away from Chicago, I think). They also got shots of the school itself, not just us kids.
