Out of nostalgia I've decided to replay FFVIII and complete the game 100% (last time I pretty much ignored triple triad, I didn't understand what I was doing and I kept losing). So now I am playing triple triad and it seems like I can become super uber very early in the game with some nice cards! What I want to know is...

If I choose to not upgrade Squall's gunblade to its mid-level counterparts and go directly to the lionheart, will Squall know the limit breaks fated circle and blasting zone?

How do I spread the all or diff rule in triple triad? I realize now that the cards are the way to go at becoming really strong but it's a pain to acquire them one by one. I am towards the end of disc 1, I just did the tomb of the unknown king mission, and I'd like to play some cards (and win all of them). I just don't understand how to combine or spread rules.

Much obliged!

You should keep all the limit breaks. Besides Lionheart's not that bad. :p
It might be a good idea to upgrade the weapon though, unless you have some powerful magic junctioned to Attack or Strength or whatever it's called.

To spread rules you just have to play in different regions. If it doesn't change, play again. Eventually the rules spread.

What I'm asking about lionheart is if I skip the mid-level weapons, will Squall only perform rough divide and lionheart?

And how do I spread the all rule, like what town do I go to that has it so I can use it?

If you skip to Lionheart, he will have Fated Circle and Blasting Zone.

Yeah, you can't skip any of Squall's finishing moves.

As for rule manipulation, it's a large subject. There is a guide for it on GameFAQs: FFVIII (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/game/197343.html) called Card Game Rule Manipulation. Check that out if you want detailed info.

Yeah all the finishing moves depend on the weapon. Certain weapons only have certain finishers. Lion heart allows all of them
