A'yo, how much do you guys believe information coming from other people over the internet?

These days, I try never to doubt, ever.

I try to believe and trust people, but also take it with a grain of salt and am rarely surprised to hear that they've been not completely truthful.

Unless it's a discussion on personal matters I meet everything with a bit of skepticism, and even personal matters can easily be lied about.

Hard to say :P

If anyone says anything related to news or a fact, I ask for a source. A credible source, too. Wikipedia usually isn't good enough, though I use it all the time.

So I believe everything I read, really.

Yes, I'm pretty much the same. I scrutinise what people tell me so that if something sounds implausible, I'll ask for why that's the case or just simply disregard it. However, I do see people as trustworthy unless they prove otherwise most of the time.

The only person I ever believed 100% on the internet was my husband before we started dating. (When we still talked online)

For the most part I'm able to tell when people have holes in their stories or something is so out there that it just is irrational to believe.

I don't believe in "death" on the internet now, anymore. Unless I am literally seeing pictures of them and their death on CNN or a reputable news site, then I refuse to believe it. I've been lied too far too much.

To be honest, I don't believe anything at all on the internet. I hardly believe http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif in person too. If I know someone and they're running their mouths about someone they know that's famous or something I just don't believe them.

The only things I believe are things I can observe myself, I guess, or if I have proof. I don't take a "person's word" for it.

I use common sense, if someone had told me TTR had gone prison for molesting some poor innocent girl I might well have believed it since his attitude on here certainly provides enough "believable evidence" of a personality capable of such acts though I'd still ask for proof from a news net. (sorry TTR for using you as an example, I know you're different offline who isn't?) However if someone told me Psychotic killed 20 walri with only a ring pull and a stick of chewing gum I'd lmao it's a matter of common sense.

Yeah man only twenty? He'd kill that many before he takes his morning http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif. If killing them, instead of bedding them, was his thing.

Anyway I dunno. I tend to believe or disbelieve on a case-by-case basis, depending on how well I know someone, my past experiences with them, their general personality, and so forth. For instance, I believe what DK says because I think he is a classy man and I just don't get the vibe that he'd http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif about things. If my first impression of someone is that they seem to be fairly sound then I will usually trust them pretty easily, but if that trust ever gets broken it doesn't come back. No point fucking around really, don't have place for worthless people in life!

And I know your pain Typhoon bro people never believe me when I tell them I'm black on the internet either. I can say whatever but no one listens. It's harsh really, trust me if I pulled my http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gifhttp://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif out this whole room would get dark.

I don't really tell people that I'm black, but sometimes when they discover it during one of my rare appearances (http://forums.eyesonff.com/general-gaming-discussion/105215-nintendo-counts-down-super-smash-bros-brawl-16.html#post2440823) they are a little surprised (http://forums.eyesonff.com/general-gaming-discussion/105215-nintendo-counts-down-super-smash-bros-brawl-16.html#post2441222).

As far as 'trusting things on the internet', it all depends on the nature and source of the information. I'm the kind of guy who likes to research things, kind of a Google fiend. If something is true and 'Googleable', there will usually be multiple reputable sources reporting the information. Or at least a few sites refuting it. Though some things ain't exactly 'Googleable'.

Tbh, I didn't believe a lot of what Bert said until I saw it for myself.

I TRUSTED him not to "rape me and drag me off in the woods", but whether or not I took the things he talked to me about with a grain of salt is a whole different story.

I pretty much lie about everything I say online.

Is that a lie? :p

Truth begins in lies. Think about it.

I don't know if I could really be said to believe or disbelieve things I see on the internet in general, because for the most part I just don't care. However, I have developed friendships with a couple of people online, and I trust what they say. It's not very easy to earn my trust or respect, but when you have it, you have it.
