been playing this now since ive recently bought a ds and been bored in work so i got into it...

when i go to fight the 'human' totema is that the end of the game?

As I recall, the game ends when you go to Ambervale. I don't recall whether or not you fight a Totema there, but I know that a Totema is not the final boss.

The human Totema is Mateus. You get him late in the game, after a challenging two part fight.

You fight Totema's that the last boss summons. Also, after you beat the last boss, you can carry on playing the game.

so fighting mateus isnt the end of the game... result :)
