someone on another forum I go to is holding a dolling contest for dolling a female that appeals to your average male gamer. So I ask stu what he would like to see in a videogame girl, and after a bit of narrowing down the genre, he mentioned a kimono and everything clicked.

Agreed on the "stockings" and any other words that sound similar. Like "stalking" for example.

Stu's very brave. That sounds like a trick question and it would have sent me running the other direction.

The image/picture is very nice. I like the softness/fuzziness it has. It gives it an innocence which adds to the appeal.

Not exactly. A nekomimi literally translates to 'cat ear(s)', which can be just an accessory like a headband like Hazuki's:
