View Full Version : Multiplayers? Which ones?

I really enjoy playing FF games as multiplayer with a fellow Final Fantasy fanatic friend of mine. The only ones I know of are:

IV (Playstation)
V (Playstation)
VI (SNES, Playstation)
and then
IX (Playstation)

Wikipedia doesn't mention 7,8, 10 etc being multiplayer. Are they?

^ no, they're not, it looks like you got all of the multiplayer ones listed, at least that I know of. The only one I could think of that might be is Origins for the PS, since the others were.

I like multiplayer, too.

I was wondering about Origins for the PS . . . but the 100% infaluable wikipedia says they're single player. Hm. Might be worth the few dollars on ebay to find out for myself, I guess.

They're really not that multiplayer though. :(

FFII US is multiplayer, there are just no settings for it. In battle all commands may be executed with controller 1 or 2.

To further add to the confusion: the back of the IX box says it's single player (with the "1 Player" icon) . . . Huh? It IS two player . . . The back of Origins says "1 Player" as well . . . Can anyone confirm whether or not it actually is?

I was under the impression that all the ones with 4 characters a fight was 2 player.

Multiplayer in Final Fantasy games (with the exception of Crystal Chronicles and [probably] Tactics Advance) isn't particularly fun anyway. Oh, and of course, XI, being the mumorpuguh.

XII might have been a good multiplayer game, though.

FFX is multiplayer. Just through around the controller every other turn :bigsmile:

IX is multiplayer?

I was under the impression it was, then when I looked for the multiplayer options I was unable to locate them. Grrr where is it since I've looked back on it several times and couldn't find where they hid them.

I've always wanted to try IX with 2 people.

Battle control under config. its funny cause me and my friend are playing it multi player. I said it would be cool if he did all the running around and talking and letted me do the fighting. Instead I get two to fight with and he gets two. I still have fun.

I WANTED it to be a multiplayer game. I so wanted to blitz it with my housemates :(

Me and a friend used to play IX multiplayer all the time; I kept murdering Vivi much to his chagrin as I myself always leave him KO'd throughout the entire game... hey, more EXP for the characters who are actually useful ^^
