I burn DVDs from time to time. I had a program from Nero on my old Windows installation that I used to do so. It created a basic menu (a background picture with the video clips found on the disc selectable as menu items), but I'm looking for something more.

Basically, I want to be able to create menus and sub menus with some flashy background art and what not.

Can anyone recommend some DVD Authoring software? I'm not looking for anything crazy amazing, just something that is easy to use but can produce nice looking results.

EDIT: Also, I need something with support for subtitles (.srt, usually) because a majority of what I burn to discs is in foreign languages.

A quick search on google brought this result up:

Create custom DVD menu background (http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/tutorial/menuback.html)

If you can find the software it uses, Gen-EFX, then it looks to be a good one. Most of the others seem out dated and have dead links.

I think SVCD2DVD (http://www.svcd2dvd.com/) seems like it could be a good choice. I'm probably going to try it out some time later this week, since I'm much in the same position as you are.

There's a program called Toast which does that stuff. Not sure if its for PC's as well as Mac's though.

Actually, my recommendation is ConvertXtoDVD (http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/). It's what I'm using now, and it has all I want from such an application, including an easy interface.
