ok so I messed up on this game a lot

Mainly I didnt get on the fog ship when I had the chance so now I need to find a way back on it...I saw it once when I left the Deserted island, but I wasnt on my main party so I switch as quick as possible but it was gone by the time I got back:(

does anyone know how to get back to it?

I really need to get Ted and the hero armor off of it

As long as you have recruited the necessary amount of Stars (71) and haven't yet liberated Obel, the Fog Ship should be available somewhere on the world map. I'm not entirely sure if it has specific locations in which it can be found, as I haven't played the game for a long time, but I remember stumbling upon it randomly once or twice before finishing it.

I did that but I couldnt find it anywhere:(

I even said around the deserted island alot, but nothing...all I got was alot of platinum

All the strategy guides on gamefaqs.com talk about the cutscene, followed by boarding the ship directly. They don't discuss if you can opt to go and board the ship later.

Have you tried going back into the strategy room with just the Hero?
