Ghido. senior mutant turtle

Today I played FFV with my DS and I saw this funny reference to TMNT. However before entering Ghidos cave I went to Tule (or whatever is the name of first town in the game) and I talked to a guy who sais something about people saw mutant turtle.


After seeing Exdeath and Ghido battling, I started to think is Ghido must be some sort of mutant turtle, since I can´t imagine normal looking turtle to battling against mighty magic. What do you think? Is he just normal looking turtle or has he any human physical on his appearance?

Ghido is a sage, who is a turtle. I don't think he holds any anthropomorphic characteristics other than the fact that he talks. He did get knocked onto his back and needed help, so I think he's just a magic turtle.

All the TMNT references are beautiful additions to the GBA version, and these such things are why I like its translation best (http://forums.eyesonff.com/final-fantasy-v/118894-gba-translation-my-favorite-entire-series.html). TMNT isn't the only thing referenced. There are also quotes referring to The Simpsons. ;)
