What would you do to fix this problem? Also, how do you handle infestations of bug related ness?

We had one a few years ago and we had to get an exterminater. Raid didn't help, nor did this stuff we got that supposedly destroys wasp nests.

Raid is beautiful for this stuff. I suppose you could rig some sort of Raid spray flamethrower?

I can tell you from experience that throwing rocks at it doesn't work. :p

When all else fails, use fire.

I was going to say that.

Anyway, stick a match in the nest.

Where were all of you when I had a wasps nest under my kitchen window? Nobody told me to use fire on it :(

But Peegee setting his on fire is perfectly ok?

Hit it with a Lawnmower!

If that doesn't work use Gas to put them to sleep and light on fire.

That's outside his house.

You could also detonate a small thermonuclear device. I am sure that would get rid of them. And maybe your house/yard as well. However, I swear you won't have a wasp nest there anymore, regardless of what else happens.

Err... yeah, raid is what we do. After all raiding places is so much fun, oh the Pillaging!

My friend once had a wasp nest on his lawn mower. Underneath the seat.

We killed wasps for kicks. We'd use four different bee killers... each of us had two different types of insect poisons, one can per hand, and we sprayed the crap out of them. They had a big problem before that... they had wasps in the garage, behind window shutters, in the lawn mower (as I already said), etc... not sure how their wasp situation is now.

Gasoline + fire should work just fine, though, if you don't mind incinerating anything around the nest.

I'm glad that PG's poll options were exactly what I would recommend.

No fire Peeg, you'll only cause the colony to turn against you as one.

Aren't colonies of insects kind of supposed to function together to survive?

Kill the living daylights of it. Use Oil followed by Firaga to instantly kill it. If that does not work, use Pyroclasm to finish it off.

KEY:

Oil = gasoline

Firaga = Match or some other flammable object

Pyroclasm = Exterminator or Flamethrower

You can get poison baits that the drones take back to the nest, killing the entire colony from the inside out. That's probably the safest approach, short of hiring an exterminator.

Before trying anything 'funny', it'd be helpful to bear in mind that a wasp swarm could easily sting a grown man to death, even if he's not allergic.

Well their elemental weakness is fire, you got that right, so equip your Flame Sword. Their attacks sometimes inflict poison (or venom if they're high level) so equip your Antibody abilities too.

When you've beaten enough of them the Queen will show up and she is a lot tougher but she'll give a ton of AP so don't forget to finish her off. When she runs low on HP she will assume attack stance from where she will counter your physical attacks with Deadly Acus which has a chance of inflicting KO, so just use magical attacks and she'll be dead in no time.

Y'know, maybe fire isn't the best idea. You should wait until someone you don't like is walking by, and then shoot down the hornet's nest.

I do it the manly way and spray it with water, causing them to get infuriated and try to attack me. I then use my martial arts and smack them down one by one single handedly.

I remember being linked to a SA forum thread around this topic yonks ago and would suggest you seek it out to find the correct (and several incorrect) ways to deal with the problem.

Otherwise, I'd suggest a combination of all three of the poll options. Certainly wouldn't want to get too close to it myself. Not so much that I'm squeemish, just would rather not be swarmed by wasps.

Drop something solid and heavy on the nest

Or make a homemade flamethrower :D

Nest (It turned out to be a bee nest -- that's what I get for making poast before checking on what my roommate was babbling about)

Me setting fire to the nest. If I had thought this through I would've grabbed the camera after setting fire to the bees (so you can see the carcasses >:D)

o_O Maybe it's just the camera perspective, but that's one of the most pissant beehives I've ever seen :p

Hope the burning WD40 didn't make too much of a mess of that window frame...

No you were right. It was pretty small. I was severely disappointed.

The thing though, is that if it were bigger, it would be more dangerous xD

You should have yelled some fierce Anime attack when you were burning the nest. Something along the lines of "DRAGON FIIIISST!"

Or the ever popular "Kamehamehaa!" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eG2v01dx-1o&fmt=18)
