<lj-cut><center><b>EgoFF: The Edinbugger Meat-Up 2008</b></center>

Edinburgh meetups aren't like most meetups - they don't last just a day or two. Ranging between one and two weeks, roughly four to six people can be there at any time and you really get to know each other. Sometimes a little too well... but anyway! Previous visitors include Squally Leonharty, MsTiffie (aka Lenna), Shauna, Brian The Pink Shark (aka Squinn), Chaos, smittenkitten (duh) and of course Dan (aka DK) was a regular inhabitant of my flat during previous Augusts. However! In 2007 nobody came, so I made certain that people would be here in 2008. And they were! This year's victims were Jess, Psychotic and Levian who joined smittenkitten and yours truly in my new flat, freshly revamped and cleaned to perfection (until a bit before the first of them arrived, and it only got worse from then on). Anyway, I know you don't give a crap about this crap so onto the point.

<center>7th August, 2008: Jess arrives at Edinbugger Airport</center>

We met Jess at the airport a fair while after she arrived, because my incredible sofa ate my wallet. She had told us she'd be shy for a day or so while she got to know us, but I assure you we made her more uncomfortable than she could have ever dreamed of from the moment we finally found her at the taxi stand. The awkwardness wore off quickly, though, and soon enough we were talking about all sorts of evil things we intended on doing to Psy once he arrived.

She settled into the place quickly enough and the girls got ready to go clubbing, looking at all corners of the internet for prospective places to get well and truly hammered. Which they did. Here's what Danielle and Jess look like when drunk. Well, at least, here are the pictures they'll let you see of what they look like when drunk. There were about ten to fifteen of them but after they cut all the ones where they "looked fat" in or "had spots" in or "looked TOO drunk" in or whatever, I got three with the stamp of approval.

Hot. ^____^ I watched Apocalypse Now while they were out and was nearly asleep by the time they got back at 2am in the morning, but they made up for it in their own ways. Jess and Danielle had intended on bunking together in the other room so they could be drunk and giggly and gossip or something, but I insisted that Danielle sleep in the same bed as me. So, as a compromise, Jess slept with us. Yes, guys, this is how you do it. :aimsun:

We met Psy <s>at the airport</s> <s>in the city</s> <s>at the bus stop</s> <s>outside the door of our flat</s> <s>in the stairwell</s> <s>at the door</s> <s>when he came in the door</s> about 20 minutes after he came in the door. xD We were tired! We didn't wanna get out of bed! So after he spent a while chatting to random people on Danielle's IM list Danielle finally gave in and headed out to stop that Psychotic guy. That night, we got drunk. I mean, they got drunk before I did. The girls, that is (Psy doesn't drink much, as it turns out). I was confused, I had a fair amount of drink and didn't feel a thing. I was perfectly sober-acting and everything, so the girls encouraged me to down more whisky from the bottle. I gave in eventually and had some...

...and some more. Eventually they decided to hide the bottle but made the terrible mistake of TELLING me that they had done so. At this point I got Psy beneath me (oh shut up) and growled "WHERE'S THE DRINK?" and he told me. I was a true drunk! :smash: Oh, it felt wonderful. Until I felt sick. And was. Urk. I said I'd never drink again and despite having gone along later on with the suggestion of everyone getting drunk on the last night, I couldn't bring myself to do it as, even a week later, I felt sick when smelling the alcomohol. Whoof. Of course, I wasn't the only drunk one. See these two?

Well, the one on the left of the pictures for some reason told me to hit Psy (I don't even remember why) so I did. Many times! Right in the arm. It didn't feel like I was doing much damage at the time but we found out later that I have diseased hands or something. That, and I'm a brutal artist.

<center>9th August, 2008: Recovery Day</center>

My very first hangover. I... urgh. Next!

<center>10th August, 2008: Lev arrives at Glasgow Prestwick airport, and then (eventually) at Edinburgh Waverley train station</center>

I believe the text message went something along the lines of "The pretty lady told me to get on the train so who am I to disobey her? Waverley, yes?" I think he left a line of broken hearts from Glasgow to Edinburgh and many girls were visibly flustered as they got off the train. Eventually we saw why. I groped his butt and then Psy and I directed him over to where the girls were seated, guarding him carefully in case they threw themselves upon him and broke his back. Yes, people. He Is That Hot.

I can't be arsed remembering the timeline for the rest of it so here are a bunch of pictures taken while Jess and Danielle got drunk each night, tried to get us all drunk, we went to random pubs, restaurants, comedy shows, bars, hiked up mountains, went for walks in the rain, played Halo 3 and some Wii games, blasted loud music that Psy didn't like, frolicked down the streets, groped each other, slept with each other, danced, experienced hangovers, got phoned by Baloki (from Denny's, apparently!), watched movies, ate food (and mayonnaise, oh god, the mayonnaise... x_x), had 'iSketch wars', scarred Zeldy and Rye for life, got lost in the city, went to local bars during the late hours to appease the girl's desperate need for alcomohol, lectured Jess on smoking, abused Psy, stroked Lev, ran away from wasps and bees, woke up in awkward positions, carried each other around the flat/city and other such random things that you do when you spend more than enough time to REALLY get to know each other. I think Psy just bruises really, really easy. Then again, I was drunk, I really don't know how hard I hit him at all - I think it was pretty hard, though. More to the point, it was a lot of quick punches in a row which probably did it. I felt so bad later. x_x

As for Jess and Danielle: Seriously. Two hottest girls I know, probably. And as Jess said about Danielle: Photos don't do her justice, she's way hotter than you can see there. I know I'm possibly bias, but Danielle is the most beautiful girl I know without question.

Maybe I'll put up a few videos later on if I can figure out how... I think we got one of Psy cleaning, one of Jess hiding and and two of Jess and Danielle playing air hockey. Nothing amazing, though, admittedly. Just fun.

Lev just needs to ease up a bit more. Stroking hands isn't something to be scared of... :)

EDIT: Oh, I also failed to mention the long discussion with Psy on how wasps must be totally emo about how everyone hates them, and how someone should write emo wasp poetry. See somewhere in Psy's visitor messages for a possible example (based on a true story).

And it's a dirty shame that shyness ruins the beginning a bit, which is only natural when you meet new people, but it really only got more and more awesome, which is why it was a bitch to leave you guys. Hey, I gave you that nickname. I'm entitled to continue calling you that wherever I wish! Better than your other nickname I recently gave you... then again, I've grown up calling my mates nicknames. When I was twelve, I had a friend who I hung out with every day who I once everheard saying "BoB! BoB! Gah... what's his real name again?" to another of my mates. I sat opposite a guy named Bob at work and I always got confused when people called him over.

And you're not the only one. I let 'im. Who wouldn't stare? You just have to get over it if you want to be a non-insanely-overprotective boyfriend. xD I would point out which guys were going to stare as they passed her by when Jess, Lev and I were walking behind her on the Bridges. I was dead accurate, it was funny.

EDIT: Psy didn't try to touch me as often as I'd hoped.

Hey, I gave you that nickname. I'm entitled to continue calling you that wherever I wish! Better than your other nickname I recently gave you... then again, I've grown up calling my mates nicknames. When I was twelve, I had a friend who I hung out with every day who I once everheard saying "BoB! BoB! Gah... what's his real name again?" to another of my mates. I sat opposite a guy named Bob at work and I always got confused when people called him over.

And you're not the only one. I let 'im. Who wouldn't stare? You just have to get over it if you want to be a non-insanely-overprotective boyfriend. xD I would point out which guys were going to stare as they passed her by when Jess, Lev and I were walking behind her on the Bridges. I was dead accurate, it was funny.
