So, about a day ago all sounds on my computer acquired a hollow, echo-y effect. I assumed at first that this was the speakers, as they've been on the fritz for awhile. However, having just acquired new speakers, I can say with confidence that it is NOT, in fact, the speakers. And thus is probably the sound card. Does anybody know how to fix this or do I need to go buy a new one?

I don't believe I have a mic. If it were on, how would I turn it off?

Open volume control from the tooltray, go to Options > Properties, change it to Recording, then mute the microphone :p I assume it's not much different if you're using Vista :p

Other things which could cause this is weird EAX settings with whatever software Creative have installed if you've got such a soundcard :p

Was not the recording. How would I fix those settings?

EAX settings? I presume somewhere in Creative's EAX toolbar or whatever it's installed, it varies so you'll have to play with it :p

I... don't believe I have that at all, actually.
