What on Earth are "Hocky Moms"?

I dunno if this is the right place to ask, but I have never heard the term until, that Palin women menioned it in her speach.

I have heard of "Soccer Moms" before, but never "Hocky Moms". (btw, if it's a famous American term, I wouldn't know - as I am not an American.)

Hockey moms are soccer moms who bring their kids to hockey practice instead of soccer practice. Honestly, not everything that comes out of the woman's mouth is oozing with stupidity.

"Soccer mom" is ANTI-AMERICAN because lots of filthy foreigners play soccer and are really good at it. Hockey, however, is a much smaller sport in the international arena, so it makes for a far more wholesome and American maternal analogy.
