I was on my way home from work the other day, and this random thought popped into my head....

Is there any game developers you prefer?


I was thinking about this for ages, and I came up with my answers!


I mainly buy Konami and Squeenix games


So, what game developers do you mainly buy?

I will buy just about anything Hideo Kojima had his hands in. Same for Yasumi Matsuno. As far as companies, Valve has yet to let me down. In fact, I'd say they're the best development company going today. There are other companies I buy a lot of games from, or series, but I far from buy every game they make, and usually check reviews before buying.

Atlus and Tri-Ace. I buy too many games on whim if I see the Atlus logo in the corner.

Hmmm I dont always know who the developers are behind a game but i do know some that bring out a lot of good titles.

Studio Liverpool (mainly for Wipeout)
Team ICO
Square Enix (sometimes...)

Emmmm, many more I just cant think of atm. I dont really pay attention to the devs, I just look if the game is any good..

Level 5 and Sega always make me happy. Well maybe not Sega ALL the time but enough. I don't care what any of you say, Sega are still great!

I feel like an idiot for forgetting them. Ueda could crap in a box and charge $200 for it at this point and I'd buy it.

I would say Koji-Pro/Valve but there's really only 1 franchise from them that I follow.

When hasnt Blizzard made a good, single player title? I cant remember what ive liked more...the Craft games or Diablo series..

Squeenix is good as well, with Atlus prolly comin in third.

Atlus - Persona rocks hard.
NIS - Makai, Phantom Brave, ect..
Natsume - Lufia and Harvest Moon
Capcom - Breath of Fire, a few scattered titles

I must admit I do pay attention to what Square-Enix is doing over everybody else. :sad: Other than that, I go game-by-game. Unless tri-Ace made it, in which case I hate it automatically. I'm gonna get shanked for that one!

I tend to find myself buying or most interested by games from Bethseda, Team ICO, Atlus, NIS, BioWare, Level 5, and I'll often buy a lot of older Square/Enix titles and I still pay attention to their new ones. I just rarely buy/like them. I probably buy a good bit from Konami and Capcom as well. Thats all I can think of right now. There might be more I've shown allegiance to though.

True fans actually [attempt] to buy the games. I've managed to get Perfect Cherry Blossom and Imperishable Night so far.

Chris Sawyer is a great game developer. I've been a fan since Transport Tycoon back in the '90s. Then came RollerCoaster Tycoon and even Monopoly Tycoon. Simply brilliant games.

I also like a lot of what Maxis makes, especially the SimCity and The Sims series.
