PS2 version of Chain of Memories confirmed for US release

Though only half of what it could have been, Square Enix has decided to release part of the Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, minus the Kingdom Hearts II part. Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories is a full 3D rendition of the Game Boy Advance game released in 2004 and was originally part of the Final Mix+ in Japan.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories will be released in North America on December 2, 2008. The story features Sora and companions meeting a mysterious man who leads them into a familiar looking castle following the events of the first Kingdom Hearts game. Along with Sora, Riku is also featured as a playable character in Chain of Memories. This version will feature the voice cast from the other PlayStation 2 releases, such as David Gallagher and Haley Joel Osment. The game will also contain four new mini-games.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories has yet to be rated by the ESRB. It will be available for a MSRP of $29.99 this December.

Ilu SE. Chain of Memories was probably the most fun I've ever had with my GBA (Yoshi's Island aside). It'll be fun to have it on my console, with improved graphics, since as we all know GOOD GRAFFIX= GOOD GAEM!

I can't put into words how excited I am about this. One of the only reasons Final Mix+ appealed to me was because of Re:CoM. I can't wait ^_^

Ah, so it is true. Well, that's cool I guess. Still, it's pretty messed up not to give us FM+, I mean it's not like it'd take them much effort to translate it (especially since all the scenes are already in English, and the new scenes don't have any voice acting). And it took them a year and a half just to announce it. Oh well.

The voice actors of Sora, Riku, and Axel are still going to be the same ones that voiced them in KH2. But I wonder who the new voice actors for the Castle Oblivion OXIII members are going to be. (It says Josh Keaton is going to be Zexion though, according to Wikipedia)

I seriously fing doubt that Squeek will front the gump to update the gameplay graphics. The sequences, naturally, will end up looking nice and with the added bonus of voice acting. But this isn't a revamp of an old classic, it's just a Remix. Same old ditto.

The graphics are almost the same as KHI. Some areas are almost practically lifted out of it.

This makes me quite happy cause I loved Chain of Memories. It just shocked me how good it was. :eek: I wish FM+ was there as well since the optional battles against all members of Organization XIII and Terra are all just badass. Still, Chain of Memories is a welcome cause at least it had a better story.
