I'm not going to be quite so democratic because I have a lot planned out already, and a mini-meetup will likely happen with or without you guys. xD Raistlin, Lekana if she can get enough money [she better!], and <i>possibly</i> (but I'd say not likely but I got the "I'll try" u_u) krissy will be visiting me and staying at my place in Champaign (about 2 hours away from Chicago, I think) for a bit this January. Not sure if I'd house anyone else for this as I don't know most of you quite well enough, but we'd probably like to take a trip to Chicago and visit the big city sometime in there, so it'd be awesome if we could arrange a meet-up with the rest of you online people also!

I've already discussed this a bit at my board, but there's a lot of the same people so I'll just keep track of the progress in both boards and see if there's enough people that want to go. If enough people are interested, we'll try to make this a sure thing. I know this is still really early to be thinking about this, but just in case you're gonna make plans for winter break, keep it in mind? :mog: You don't have to make any commitments, but don't sign up if you're 99% sure you won't make it either~

Jojee will be leaving Saturday afternoon/night because she has to take a bus to New Orleans at 6AM the next morning ^-^.

Nah, not really. More reserved until I get drunk enough to talk about sex and subsequently begin stripping. The main reasons I can't (or won't) go stem from the first two. I had bad experiences in Chicago the time I was there and wasn't really interested in the place to begin with. Living in Colorado effects it pretty big too, since it's a significant drive that my car probably couldn't make. O'Hare is the worst airport I have ever had the displeasure of flying into or out of. I am a firm believer that it was designed by crack-addled retarded chimps.

Buying cheese in minnesota? Screw that. I would stop at Cady Cheese farm right outside of River Falls, WI. The cheese is made fresh and stuffs. Liis also cheaper in WI, and available on Sundays and they do not have to close off sale at 10, like they do in minnesota.

That being said, is anyone thus far needing a ride from MN,WI, to Illinois. If need be I can swing through Iowa even. ><. I just don't want a huge car ride of boredom, and putz moved away, so he won't be coming. Damn damn damn. I do want to go through Wisconsin, and stop at sparta. After consulting several people (Ouch! included) I've come to the conclusion that you do not actually have to sneak the alcohol. Just to let you know. And that the no alcohol thing was because the Taste was going on the last time.

The official rules that I've found seem to say no eating, drinking, or alcohol (among other things) on the train, but as I've witnessed all three and taken part of two without anything being said, you should be fine.

Edit: If its stull up for discusion, how about the Palmer House Hilton? Its just north of Eisenhower an east of Kennedy, and it looks like a decent hotel and is one of the Cheaper packages for me. :p

Don't know the layout of Chicago well enough to be able to know if that's a good spot though.

They might have bigger rooms but if you get something downtown, don't just buy and forget. Try to find out the size of the room first.
