ok after hunting it down through Movieweb, i finaly saw it and sadly it's not enough to judge it by, though i have to agree, what's with Roshi having a full head of hair? he's supposed to be an old bald pervert, that gets whacked in his bald noggin by all the girls for being a perv, i'm not so sure about this one though i need to see more before i judge too harshly... of course the characters are gonna look a bit different because Toriyama's art style is near impossible to mimic with real people...

i need to see more because as all trailers do it flashes by so quickly and gives the barest minimum of detail, i can't judge it fairly on that trailer alone... i don't wanna be part of the herd that judges before actualy seeing, my lil' bro is a huge DB/Z/GT fan and because of that i have seen the whole saga and a little 2min trailer just isn't enough to be judgmental about... all we get is what they look like, no real backstory on it or character personality description to compare to the originals, just looks, and looks are not enough...

1) If the original Dragon Ball and/or Dragon Ball Z wasn't enough to destroy your child hood, I don't think this movie will. :p

2) I've heard rumours of a hollywood Bebop too, and it makes me a sad panda. Hearing Keano Reeves woudl be spike made me angry panda. I don't care if its an unfound rumour, whoever would even joke of such a thing deserves death.

I also read yesterday that Hollywood got the rights to do a live action Cowboy Bebop movie...You really need to watch those movies again. You have no idea what level of awful you are referring to. I don't know why they chose The Invisible (Justin Chatwin) as our Kamemeha Waver but James Marsters is one my favorite actors and I have faith in his performance as a villain. Though I admit, I'm not sure how well the fight scenes will turn out.
And about Cowboy Bebop. Typically, the show reminds something of Firefly. I think if Joss Whedon took the reigns it could turn out rather nice.

Action movies are about the action and are always meant to get right to the action which means they usually don't have time for minute details or crude humor. Look at Witch Hunter Robin. Up until the moments when Robin was torching the spare ribs out of people, I was bored enough to want a gun to my head threatening my life just to keep me watching with feigned interest. It was my mistake believing that WHR was meant to be watched by action fans when it clearly is not. The fact is Dragon Ball is an action show and as long as the fighting looks cool and there's plenty of it and it gets to it fast, none of the other stuff matters.

Seen it. I'd categorize it as an enjoyable bad movie, although not as bad nor as enjoyable as, say Street Fighter. Of course (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8u7px_GzWQ), SF is my benchmark for all cheesy live action adaptations of animation/video games.

The leads, Goku and Chi Chi, were miscast and unconvining. Emily Rossum at least brings pluck to her character, and Chow Yun-Fat embodies some of Roshi's character if nothing of his appearance. James Marsters was neither great nor terrible. Piccolo's my favorite character from the series, so that was a bit of a letdown.

Watch for Bulma's one lock of hair dyed cyan.

One thing confused me: who was the woman tending to Piccolo in the credit cookie? Was she the woman that Mai took the Dragon Ball earlier in the film?
