(k so maybe not "dark" whatev)
Post a band that pretty much no one besides you here probably has heard of. The longer you go before someone has heard of your band, the more points you get!
(you get points back if people who haven't heard of them listen to them)
K go:
Bat for Lashes

The lead singer of Nena and Patti Smith don't do that either.
Anywaaaaaaays. Most of the stuff I listen to not a lot of people've heard. Here's some Chad Vangaalen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLw5b70OJH8), Blonde Redhead, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMH1yFQFj5I)Leftover Crack, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NGGVrBdJ7U) Goon Moon, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f0l4djubOM) Onitsuka Chihiro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggUHODOZ5S4).

Not as well as you'd initially believe.

Tool - I'm the only person in the world who likes and understands this band and that makes me superior to everyone in this thread.

This is more of a singer but Junichi Suwabe
Hm. I think so far all I know is Dresden Dolls (are they actually obscure?) and Bat for Lashes.
I'm going to go with:
The Gothsicles.

Searchlight. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ4UFdUHWzo)
Bôa. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0N5YblvT1c)
Die Fantastischen Vier. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEn1YqfADuw)
DJ Lizard. <-- Unfortunately I believe he's taken all of his music off the web. If you can find It's Only Life or Oceanic View, those are both good trance-y songs)
Louis XIV. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AsIzfxIBBc)
Massive Attack. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fG8eQBSp9Ao) <-- They did the theme from House MD.
Múm. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDb8hduT584)
Skillet. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suld1QM41ZA&feature=related)
Sweetbox. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTo9yG8Tvl8) <-- Jade, the singer, did Real Emotion and 1000 Words from FFX-2 and split from the rest of the band, so I'm not sure if they're still considered obscure. Apparently this specific song is really popular in Korea.
SONIA. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzOVU_gSfYI) <-- Theme song for Tenchi Universe
I apologize for some that are really popular. Among my friends, these are artists that none of them have heard of and that I can categorize as really great:D

I'm pretty sure that King Missile is not very obscure as I have heard "Detachable Penis" on the radio multiple times. Granted, my favourite song by them is the Hamster song.
I'd say Freezepop but then they ended up on Guitar Hero II.
Ima Robot.
Not very obscure, but still awesome.
And for good measure: René Gruss.

Now you're just making them up.
Have you heard of 7 Saucers of Milk, Ryth?
They sound familiar, but I don't really recall anything about them (assuming I'm not thinking of someone else to begin with). Link?

Now that I think about it I was mixing the name up with 7 Guitars with a Cloud of Milk anyway (which is an album actually...). So awesome for me. I am a winnar.
