Doesn't this qualify as slander/libel? Of course, there is some truth to it. SE COULD probably survive a few years with just re-hashing previous versions of Final Fantasy games and sequels. With the release of the FFXIII games next year as well as FFVII:ACC on Blu-Ray, I guess we could technically see within the next year or so if they really DO shutdown FF development. Anyways, take it with a grain-of-salt because this guy "Andrew" just sounds like a bitter, whiney uber-geek that got stoned by Cockatrice's one too many times.

Even halfway down the article where there used to be an image, you probably KNOW it was of Cloud Strife. But oh well.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing sequels as long as they don't suck, nor would I mind remakes. I love replaying games.
I wouldn't mind, really. But I would like it if they still made originals. They won't last forever with just remakes

I think it is an absolutely brilliant piece of satire. And some of the things are quite true.

I think we're gonna see more sequals like 10-2

Square-Enix also announced several new compilations and re-imaginings that were in the works. The Final Fantasy Ultimate Chronicles package, consisting of ports of Final Fantasy 2 and Final Fantasy 7 along with a separate soundtrack CD that can only be purchased with the game, will be released for the Playstation 2 in early July.
The Final Fantasy Crystal Collection is also slated for release sometime in 2007. It will be a compilation of all the Final Fantasy games that had something to do with crystals over the years, and will be released for the Nintendo Wii and will feature the “Chocobo Mailing system” that will allow people to raise, exchange, and battle chocobos in a special online arena.
A Final Fantasy 7 dating simm, based largely on the Golden Saucer scenes featuring Cloud and one female protagonist, will be released for Xbox 360 in early 2008 and will feature multiple “happy endings” based on how a player performs in the game. It will also feature a New Game+ mechanic similar to that seen in Chrono Trigger that will allow gamers to unlock different girls’ “special features” without going through the game from scratch.
If you don't know it's satire after reading this, then there's something wrong with you.

It is pretty funny. I don't mind remakes and sequels if they are quality. Though I don't generally like direct sequels to FFs, if the games are good and respect the integrity of the source material, I seriously can't complain.
Though this does remind me of the comment Yoichi Wada made about the Compilation of VII. :eep:
