View Full Version : This Ploy By FOX Should Be Illegal

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Halfway through season one, they went on a short hiatus, and then came back at a different time. What did this do? It caused my DVR to forget it was on, and not record it, thus making me buy the Blu-Ray to see the entire first season. I thought it was an honest mistake until today.

I missed tonight's episode, because after they came back from a two-week hiatus, they changed the airtime, thus causing my DVR to forget to record it. So, now I know they're doing it on purpose to boost DVD and Blu-Ray sales. Well it isn't going to work. I'm going to obligate them to send me the Blu-Ray for season two for free because of this. If they don't, I'm downloading every episode and making dozens of copies to give to all my friends. Why? They screw me, I screw them.

Or, um, they just rescheduled because they had to. Not everything is a conspiracy against you.

The Ceej
11-04-2008, 02:30 AM
You think you know me oh so well, don't you?

Rather than reading what I said about it being a ploy to boost their DVD sales, you put your "I know Ceej" glasses on and read it as an conspiracy against me directly. That says more about you than it does about me.

EDIT: By the way, like most evil corporations, FOX hides their direct phone numbers and only lets you contact them through a feedback form. Does anyone know the direct numbers to FOX? Preferably to the CEO. Home phone numbers are not required, but if you can't find phone numbers to the company, they'll work too.

Um no, I read what you said, and everything you said is a textbook example of 'conspiracy theory'. Don't flatter yourself.

Companies do things like that. They're in it to make money. That means they'll do anything to make money. Screwing us over makes them more money. Why would they not do it unless we gave them some incentive not to?

Don't you get it? That's what the blank DVD companies want you to do.

Television stations often move shows around based on ratings and when most people will be watching the highest rated show. So either Terminator started getting better ratings and moved to a better slot, or the ratings dropped, so they moved it to a not-as-active time slot. It isn't a conspiracy to boost sales, because that would be money for the producing companies and the manufacturing companies, not the television stations showing them.

The Ceej

You know what, everyone?

SMURF YOU! SMURF YOU ALL!!

Everything I say, you have to twist around to something that it never was intended to be to begin with. I say a company used a ploy to make more money, you turn it into the world's out to get me.

I say I was taught something incorrectly in college, you turn it into the education system is out to make me dumb.

I say I have a strategy for Roulette, and you turn it into something... Well, not really quite sure what you did with that one.

Well, I'm smurfing done. You can break out the champagne glasses and what have you, because I'm done with your bullskullz.

You know, what you're doing says more about you than it does about me. I'm just going to do something else until GOEfriends is back up, and you know what? You're not welcome to follow me. You're all pricks.

Except for the few of you that aren't, and you know who you are.

I can't make a simple comment here anymore without you guys jumping on me and making it into something it's not. I'm smurfing sick of it and I'm smurfing sick of you.

SMURF YOU!!

Even the sarcastic modding.. uck.

Yeah, I do see where the ceej is coming from, it is too bad that the content and idea behind the post is overshadowed by prejudgmental internet more concerned with ad hominem than even committing an ounce of brain power to make their sub-witty banter worth reading. The forum as found it's way to stage 4, the end boss will kill you all. Those of you that survive, may find solice at penny arcade, or something-awful. I would prefer it if you all joined anon on 4chan.org, and used your anonymous masks to segregate yourselves from anything, so that you can always superfluously make fun of everything.

To play along, Fox sucks, but at least their news is "fair and balanced".

Whoa, whoa, cool it. I haven't trolled or even said anything demeaning in this thread once. I have not said or done anything that would make me come across as an elitist either. All I've said is that this is not some conspiracy to make people buy DVDs, it is what television stations do due to ratings. It is not my fault that The Ceej gets bent out of shape even when people calmly explain things with the best intentions.

TV station conspiracy theories?

Oh good.

Personally I believe Justin is the one behind the Ceej's dilema.

Probably snuck into his house at night to find out what he liked to watch, and messed with him by changing the air time.

Thats right, Justin is a CEO at FOX.

Momiji
11-04-2008, 05:32 AM
Guys guys, stop with the fad hominems. ;;

Anyway, bottom line: the shows with the best ratings get the best time slots. If people lose interest in a show, ratings drop. Therefore, it's moved to a more appropriate slot. So if your favorite show sucks in the eyes of the rest of the viewing area, sorry, reschedule your DVR.

EDIT: Haha, I wish I was the CEO. I could use some money.

Anyways, I don't like it when shows shift their times around, but it is a necessity of life. Most of the time, it helps out my schedule by moving stuff to a night where I don't have prior obligations.

Shoeberto

Fox has a history of changing their show schedules to crappy times. See: Timeslots leading up to cancellation of Firefly, Arrested Development and original run of Family Guy.

Gonna close this thread, it's served its purpose.
