View Full Version : What classes are you taking next semester?

X-posted from LJ:

Okay, seriously, my new class schedule is a major ball buster. No longer do I have the luxury of 11 am classes. 9 OR 9:30 AM EVERY DAY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

It kills me. I woke up at 8 in the morning to register for these class, as it just opened then, PLUS, I'm one of the few people who can be early registered for spring classes, and I can't even get out of 9 am classes.

It takes me like, 2 hours to get ready in the morning, jeez louisiana. Do I dare go to class without make-up? Too horrifying a thought. I'll have to be up at 7:30 to get ready in time. Jesus christ. :kaocry:

I'm taking a lot of gen eds, I don't have ANY english this semester, since I'll be englished out next year since I'm studying abroad to England.

I'm taking Italian 101, Bio 101, Edc 312 (Psychology of Learning), Edc 102 (Intro to American Education System), Soc 212 (Sociology of Family) and then a Bio lab one time a week. Interesting classes though!

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w200/ryechuuu/schedule.jpg

Compared to my current, nice, two classes in a row each day, starting at 11, ending by 2, except on Fridays when I can wake up at 12 and end by 2, I'm going to want to die. ;;

I must admit though, I like how symmetrical my schedule is here! It looks so PRETTY. It's shaped like a fat candlestick.

---

So, dears, what are you taking?

Nice show of symmetry. o.o

I plan on taking French, more Psych, an English/History class, and another math class if I don't pass Statistics (which I likely will not). However, it would be a better idea to just hold that off until next school year, since signing up for another class from hell before knowing if I passed the first class from hell would be sort of pointless. In this case, I may see if there's an art history class or a rhetoric class I can take.

What a totally kickass schedule. This is basically par-for-the-course for my last three semesters. Oh, the wonders of getting things done early. You can relax at the end.

Key:

HIS 4336: Europe Since World War I
GTX 4340: Great Works in Music
REL 3345: World Religions
REL 3303: Archaeology and the Bible

That's like my current schedule, super easy, 2 classes each day. Brit Lit, Basic Psychology, Japanese 101, Math 108.

Wow, that schedule is actually pretty evil, Rye.

Differential Equations (Math 3404) + drill
Dynamics (Meeg 2013) + drill
Thermodynamics (Meeg 2403) + drill
Discrete Mathematics (Math 2103) + drill
Creative Writing I (Engl 2203)

*sighs* This is pretty much par for the course for the next five semesters :}

qwertysaur

CSP 127 -Computer Programing I/Java (4 credits)
MAT 204H - Calculus II H (4 credits)
PSY 235H - Adler, Jung, Moreno: Perspectives on contemporary life (3 credits)
SPE 223H - Diversity in American Speech and Language (3 credits)
ENG 221H - Honors Literature Seminar (3 credits)
PED 121 - Tai Chi (1 credit)

4 honors courses will keep me quite busy next semester, but I'm getting most of my Gen eds done. :D 18 credits is going to be erm, time consuming.

The speech class is going to be fun though. Here is the course description

This course is a general introduction to pluralism and diversity in American speech communication. Our accents, word choice and communication strategies are often influenced by factors such as our racial, religious, ethnic, sexual and regional identities. As a result, people in the U.S. speak many varieties of English (and other languages). This course will examine a number of culturally distinct speech communities and unpack the cultural logic of their speech. Topics will include: an overview of American English, Spanglish, Black English, deaf language, male and female communication patterns, the importance of naming in Jewish, gay and other identities, regionalisms, slang and resistive strategies used by non-dominant groups in our mass-mediated world. No speeches are required in this course.

rubah, your schedule looks so evil.

I'd scan my time table but I can't be arsed. Sociology, English Literature, Photography, Media Studies, Open Forum and Key Skills (Essential computing skills, I'll be done by Christmas though)

also never mind "semester" this timetable does me all year. I only have two mornings off (Though after transportation time it's hardly a "morning off" but an extra hour in sleep.) I have to get up at 6am every day mostly, so yeaaahh 9am lessons is pretty luxury.

Nice

I have no idea what I'm taking yet. I have a vague idea of two classes. One is a teaching methods course which is apparently four hours long on a Saturday. =o

I'm an english education major and I gotta say, i can't wait to be done. :choc:

That's what I was gonna say!

MWF 8:30AM Computer Organization (as long as I get the override to get in...)
MWF 11:30AM Linear Algebra
M 2:30PM-4:30PM Programming II Lab
F 9:30AM-10:30AM Discrete Math Drill
TuTh 9:30AM-11:00AM Discrete Math
TuTh 11:00AM-12:30PM Programming II Lecture
Th 2:00PM-5:00PM Honors Film Lecture

A fairly well-rounded 16 hours, and I should be pretty well caught up (except for having to take core electives over the summer, which should be easy)

My schedule is symmetrical as well!

See?

MATH 320 - Ordinary Differential Equations
CSE 216 - Software Engineering
CSE 201 - Computer Architecture
CSE 261 - Discrete Structures
ECE 138 - Digital Systems Lab

Also I have the same system as KB but I prefer my Excel spreadsheet because it's easier to access.

I only read one or two subjects at a time at my university. The subjects I'm taking from this coming monday until early '09, "CAD" and "Applied visualization" has a simple schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9–12. We're expected to do the majority of our work from home.

Edit: Oh, it said next semester. I'll be taking "Designing methods and processes", "Extended Designing methods", "Design project" and "Computer mediated communication".

In the netherlands we actually have a major called (direct translation) : "Freetimeology" (vrijetijdskunde in dutch)

And those people can only sit on their couch when they get off from work, because well, you don't want to take your work home now, do you. xD

How could you not start laughing at people who study that? :p

4th dimension is time. So if you have an x-y graph, you would
have multiple lines, representing the change over time.
