View Full Version : Which does not belong?

Momiji

Let's play a game!

Name three to five things of general knowledge, with one that does not belong. And whoever guesses must say what does not belong, as well as why it does not belong. You can make these as tricky as you want, but it still must remain in general knowledge-- there's no point in asking when it's something so obscure that no one will know the answer.

Example:
Red, yellow, blue, green

Answer: Green
Explanation: Red, yellow, and blue are primary colors, green is not.

I'm not exactly sure how this can be a 'one post in ten' deal, so please keep unnecessary posts to a minimum.

I'll start off with a simple three-choice one:

Soybean, Peanut, Almond.

Which does not belong, and why?

almonds aren't legumes (?)

Momiji

Yep, you got it. :D

Feel free to post your own, even if you don't know the answer to the one before, but you can at least try. :p

Technically that first one could have two answers. Cause red, blue and green are the primary colors of light.

Momiji

That's true, I was just throwing out an example. I didn't really think of the primary colors of light though; I guess that's where making the question tricky comes in.

If the person who guesses posts something that is correct, but is not your answer, please say so. That way people can still try to guess what the answer you are thinking of is.

Whale Shark has little to do with killing, or the avoidance of it.

Flying Mullet
11-12-2008, 09:23 PM
So do nurse sharks. :p

demondude

Nurse sharks fall into the 'avoidance' of killing. (Or death)

Flying Mullet
11-12-2008, 09:29 PM
Your answer was Whale Shark, not Killer Whale. Quit cheating!

Actually, I was thinking the Killer Whale didn't belong because it's a mammal.

demondude
11-12-2008, 09:30 PM
Killer whale does not belong because it is a mammal, I win!

I'll go on ahead.

Big Brother
Survivor
Amazing Race

Which one dosen't belong?

Bunny
11-13-2008, 02:36 AM
Survivor.

The others are badder.

Alternative Answer(!!!!):

Big Brother doesn't belong because it takes place in a house somewhere in a big city instead of in a remote location or in several different locations.

MORE ALTERNATIVE ANSWER:

Big Brother is an alliterative title. Survivor and Amazing Race are not.

Erm, no. Big Brother hasn't had a winner over 40.

Keep in mind that my list:

Jack Levin
James McCloud
Jared Codwell
is the current one that you're supposed to be finding which one doesn't belong.

Bunny
11-13-2008, 03:01 AM
Jack Levin is from F-Zero, James McCloud is a character from F-Zero (and also the father of Fox McCloud) and Jared Codwell is a dirty hippie.

Evastio
11-13-2008, 03:12 AM

Flying Mullet
11-13-2008, 01:54 PM
Birdo only appears in one Mario title while Boo and Goomba appear in multiple Mario titles.

Loony BoB
11-13-2008, 02:02 PM
Boo is a human girl from Monsters Inc, the others are non-human beings in Mario games. ;)

qwertysaur

birdo is not originally from a Mario game, and is referenced to being a cross dresser.

Gwawr
11-13-2008, 11:02 PM
I am successfully refraining from saying 'Goomba doesn't begin with a B'.

Hokay, some classical music trivia then:

Viola
Flugelhorn
Alto saxophone

Levian
11-13-2008, 11:08 PM
dunno the music buisness. :(

What I had in mind was that Birdo, Dry Bones and Boo are all playable characters in the Mario Party series while Goomba is not.

qwertysaur
11-13-2008, 11:12 PM
Oh yeah, that...

Viola
Flugelhorn
Alto saxophone
Flugelhorn. Viola and Alto Sax each have a similar instrument with a higher pitch.

rubah
11-14-2008, 01:11 AM

Flying Mullet

Flugelhorn doesn't have an 'a' in it? :p

Gwawr
11-14-2008, 08:03 PM
I didn't think about the similar instrument with a higher pitch thing! I guess with a flugelhorn you could count a trumpet, but technically it's of a similar pitch but can just extend to the upper timbre - good effort!

I was thinking that Viola was the only one to read in alto clef, but you're damn right. Flugelhorn DOESN'T have an A.

Flying Mullet
11-14-2008, 08:16 PM
The sad part is I was referring to the letter 'a'. xD
