I like them both. Hating the world has nothing to do with it though. They have a good sound. Tool is one of the greatest bands ever.

Rosetta Stoned is the greatest song ever written.

Love both bands, but Tool are just on another level musically compared to the majority of bands out there. One of the few bands where I can say the whole truly is greater than the sum of it's parts.

I wouldn't say I listen to them when I'm hating the world though. In fact, I find Lateralus to be genuinely uplifting. Though I must admit there was a lot of anger in some of Maynard's lyrics on the earlier albums.

Never listened to A Perfect Circle, and Tool bore me a bit
although playing the songs on guitar hero made me appreciate them a bit more, cause the drumming is fun :jess:

I like APC, but I love Tool. 10,000 Days and Lateralus are two of my most played albums ever. I reckon their best songs are Ænima and Vicarious.

First saw them at the side stage at Palooza 93 or 94 or around there. Instantly became a fan ever since.

I love Tool. :snowgirl: And I like APC a lot too, although, I was in love with the first album, the second one was ok....., and the third made me sad with disappointment.
