What do you think of Die Hard 2? I think it kind of sucks because the plot of Die Hard 2 is practically the same as the original. John McClaine is in the wrong place at the wrong time again when terrorists skyjack an airport on Christmas.

Even John McClaine himself (Bruce Willis) thinks the plot was unoriginal because he said "Man I can't smurfing believe this. How can the same <img src="http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif" alt="skull" /><img src="http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif" alt="skull" /><img src="http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif" alt="skull" /><img src="http://forums.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/rpg_009.gif" alt="skull" /> happen to the same guy twice?"

John McTieman (the original Die Hard director) also thought Die Hard 2 was unoriginal that's why he didn't film it.

Die Hard 2 is my least favourite of the four, but it's still watchable and has some alright bits.

I actually forgot 2 existed until this thread, that how much I didn't enjoy it, but it was still watchable, I just prefer the others.

Die Hard 2 is not the best film in the series, but it's okay. I like some of the twists, and there's quite a bit of suspense there as well. I also like how the director (who is a Finn) used a famous Finnish tune, "Finlandia" near the end of the film in an epic moment. It's also nice that the bad guys manage to kick the hero's ass, and the music in general is quite alright. :)

>>> It sucked but I liked it anyways.. It had Christmas and Dennis Franz as a lousy cop, a winning combination..

Die Hard 2 is my second favorite holiday movie of all time. Who cares if the plots are similar? Die Hard is all about Bruce Willis kicking ass and we get plenty of this.

Also, best movie subtitle ever.

Seriously. This isn't freaking Citizen Kane. This is a mindless action flick. Originality, plot, dialogue, character development - balls. What matters is that you get good action with great one-liners and a simplistic good-guy/bad-guy plot.

You guys are easy to please if you don't mind seeing the same Die Hard film twice. The Terminator was also a mindless action flick but at least Terminator 2 was different.

Uh... I think you're failing to grasp the point of a "dumb action movie".

Die Hard 2 is tied with the original as the best in the series. I think the plot is surprisingly original with the bad guys taking over air traffic control. Of course, it winds up with Bruce Willis kicking ass but its still one of the better early 90's action flicks.

And a small appearance by none other than the T-1000 is a nice bonus.

I think the plot is surprisingly original.

It wasn't original enough for John McTieman to return right away...because McTieman basically thought Die Hard 2 was like the original Die Hard but planes and snow, it had a new bad guy but that was a given.

Die Hard 2 is my second favorite in the series. A plot that is so full of holes my brain forces to shut down and just enjoy the action =D

The first movie is my favorite because John McLaine kills Snape Hans.

I'm not sure why you feel the persistent need to see how others feel about a movie, or anything else and try to force your opinions on those who disagree, but whatever.

No matter how you feel about Die Hard 2 it can never be as bad as the second half of Die Hard 3 and that makes it all right in my book.

It's OK - but nowhere near as good as the first film. I even prefer the third film (or at least the first half of the third film) to this one (not seen the fourth).
