I got to open birthday presents today, and one of them was a platinum edition of sleeping beauty :D So I got to watch it in the non-fading-randomly-to-black and white version for the first time in ten years and in a legit format for the first time ever.

I still love it :love:

:save: Prince Phillip actually has a personality (and a name at that!). I realized that I must've had a huge crush on him when I was little. Maybe I still do. He was one of my favorite barbies, I think.

:save: Aurora isn't your usual simpering and maligned do-gooder (this gets on my nerves in snow white really bad). She's slightly rebellious and intelligent enough to assess a situation (unless she's being hypnotized)

:save: There is a drinking scene! (Skumps!)

The woman who did merryweather's voice did the Lady's from lady and the tramp :O and Flora was the voice of the queen of hearts, an elephant from dumbo, malecificent was the step-mother from cinderella.

The bonus documentaries were pretty interesting, especially the 4 artists paint 1 tree.

:up::up::up:

I noticed right away that Maleficent was voiced by the same woman who voiced Cinderella's evil stepmother; it was a little weird for me!

Is there an annoying music video by a young Disney actress/singer on the movie disc?

Aurora looks fantastic even before she gets that princess dress on. I love Sleeping Beauty! Maleficent has the best evil castle.

yes, I love her briar rose peasant girl outfit!

Yes there is a music video, but it wasn't as annoying as I thought it would be.

On the other hand, it was even more annoying than I thought it would be!

I'd never seen the movie until yesterday and really enjoyed it, though.

I watched my copy last night! I liked the little documentary on Tchaikovsky.

Sleeping Beauty is my favourite disney movie. :heart: I use to sing "Once Upoun A Dream" all the time and dance around like I was a princess.
