lets all share our first time, explain what you felt as you began playing ur first FF game.
My first was FF9, at first when i was controling this weird (girl) with a monkey tail i named Kora, it felt akward fighting in turnbased style. but as soon a steiner was chasing me and Vivi and garnet was helpping fight the Knight i was instently drawn to it. i finaly felt emotionaly cunected to a game, when Garnet, steiner, and vivi passed out in the ice cavern i didnt know the laws of an RPG so i thought tey were actuley dead. Helpping Freya fight for her home land was amazing. and the scene ware Garnet and Eiko come together and summon alexander wile Bahamu is attacking.... OH MY GOD. and when kuja distroyed his home world and zidane lost it. i was on the edge of my seat wanting to join his side just as his friends were doing even though he refused they're aid. I will not take it back when i say that
Final Fantasy IX was the last great Fantasy

I was over at a friends house and as we were bored, he decided to show me one of his games, which happened to be FF8, so we started playing, got to the fire cavern and I was amazed at all the effects with the battles, the GF's etc.
So a few months later I bought my first FF, FF9, and the rest is gravy.
Final Fantasy X! I remember being so weirded out by all the blitzball fans wanted to touch Tidus, and thinking to myself "This is the WORST GAME EVER." xD
I really got into it, obviously though, and then I joined EoFF a few days later. xD

Well I'd heard of Final Fantasy again and again since I was a kid, but I never payed any attention to it (mainly because I didn't have any Nintedo stuff other than a gameboy, so all I heard was kids descussing it at school, and it went a bit over my head).
After buying my PlayStation I got a tips and cheats book which included a walkthourogh for Final Fantasy VII, I was very intrigued by this game I had never played, so I eventually got it. It's been my favourite FF ever since.
Note: I've lost the damn T&C book though, shame I'd really like to read it again...:(

Final Fantasy IX. I was bored, and I picked between that and VII on someone else's playstation to keep me busy. I thought it was awesome cool, and I liked Zidane immediately.
FFI. Yes I'm old, shut up. I played it at my aunt's house once when I was really young and I had no idea what I was doing. That was the last I saw of it for many years, and went on to own IV and VI before getting my hands on I again.

My first was with FFVII. I was at a family friends house with my brother and we were playing random games they had on their playstation. We pulled that one out and I thought the graphics were amazing, but initially hated the game. I thought it was too hard and impossible because we couldn't get past the first boss (we didn't realize you weren't supposed to attack guard scorpion while it's tail is up). My brother later got it for his birthday and I thought he was stupid for it, but then we played it and I got every final fantasy since then.

Like I said, I read a guide first so I knew not to, but I can see why you misunderstood the instructions - that was so badly scripted. :D

I remember when I was like 12 years old final fantasy 7 had a preview on tv. I begged my mom to get me a playstation and the game so bad she did.
When I first played it I didn't think I needed the memory card and I would try leaving my PS on for days getting further and further. Finally I got a memory card and saved. XD
