I have a dilemma.

I would like to upgrade my laptop's HDD because 100gb just aren't enough.

I've found a nice 320gb on newegg selling for $60 with free shipping.

Should I buy it?

Here are the pros and cons of the situation:

Pros:
1) $60 is pretty cheap.
2) I really need more space (11gb free and my external is filling up too), my windows partition would like to spread out a little as well.
3) The drive I found will be marginally faster than my current one

Cons:
1) I've bought so much techy stuff for myself already ;_; Including something today!
2) I couldn't install it until after I get back to school.
3) Installation would be pretty annoying/time consuming (but I would be able to do it)

VOTE.

Wait until you get back to school and use part of this semester's stipend on it!

I really couldn't install it until I got back to school. Not only do I not have a way to back my junk up here, but I need my OSX disk to format the drive and install my operating systems on it!

and stu, we have to have a talk if we have below a 3.25 if we want to get our stipend ;_;

Do it! Waiting would probably be better, but if I were in your shoes, I'd transfer 60 out of your savings to your checkings, do it now and then take some of your stipend and put it back in your savings after!

But I have no patience, so... xD

Why don't you just burn the excess onto some DVDs in the mean time? That is a cheap storage solution for stuff that isn't gonna change anytime soon.

I'm burned out on optical media atm (no pun intended)

I guess I do have a stack of like a million dvds. . .

(also I freed up like 13 gb of space so I have enough to live for right now xD It was down to 2gb free!)
