Imagine you were sent back in time and now it's 2008
My precious thread is gone, damn you forum crash

So here it is again-
According to comercials the American remake of Life on Mars is going to start airing some time this year in my country. Now I absolutely adored the original BBC Life on Mars and I was wondering if the American version would ruin the experience, somewhat like how X-2 ruined X for some people. Is it different? Good different or Bad different? Same sense of humour? Is Gene Hunt still the same wise cracking stud? Is it as psychologically stimulating or has it been dumbed down?

it watched a trailer on youtube (im english). i almost died
it looks like a diabolical destruction of the original. it was spelled out by the lack of Glenster or Simm (or any of the original cast) being in it. it just seems like a badly americanised cop show, which is far from what the original was achieving.
