Rock Band 2 Drumset for Xbox 360

Ok so I just got this and I'm having a little bit of trouble hearing the drums in the game. The sound is much lower and when the fills come in I can barely hear them at all. I definetly notice a difference in the sound on the tv from the drums from rock band 1 and 2. I know they are velocity sensitive but I've hit them as hard as possible. Also when I hit the actual a b x y buttons it is significantly louder. Thank you.

I'm a little confused, are you having difficulty hearing the drum track playing in the game itself or is it that you can't hear when you're hitting the drumset? The quieter drum heads are supposed to be a feature of the new set, since the old ones were really loud.

The drums sound a lot softer on my tv, no matter how hard I hit them. During the fills it is almost inaudible.
