So, Goldenboko used to hold these trivia contests a while age, and here is the return of them in time for this Glorious Eyes on Plays. (A Jewish on time is always a bit late :p)

You are not allowed to search the internet to find answers for these questions. There is no way I can control you, but I trust you guys. Play fair. If I suspect people of searching for answers, I'll give you warnings and probably make the questions a lot harder.

So here are the rules, copied from Gobo himself.
One of these threads was once closed because of off topic chatter, so no of topic chatter UNLESS its paired with an answer or a question about the thread... (I prefer it if you keep chatter to a minimum.)

Ex

OOC: lol yeah right.

Hey qwerty, I thought _____ was right as well
The point system works like this
1 point for... Answering a question correctly, or Noticing an error in my question
2 points for... Noticing an error in my question, and answering the question correctly.
3 points for... Finding my answer to be incorrect and providing a correct answer and a source to back up your correction.
I will wait a little while and declare all who answered it correctly with points... please though hide your answers in spoiler tags, unmarked answers=No points. (Also It makes me have to toss the question if it's not marked :()

Remember, spoiler tags are the  button in the area above where you type replies.

2 points for Flying Mullet, blackmage_nuke, The Turk and Jiro.
1 point for Goldenboko, Scrumpleberry, The Man.

No point for Jiro's trivia, not part of the question. To get 2 points you had to mention that Biggs is the PSX or GBA translation while Vicks is the SNES translation.

Well, you have to buy 2 of the autocrossbow, bioblaster and noiseblaster early in the game. The autocrossbow is the only useful one, so I think you have to pay for it..? Not sure. I'll say noiseblaster, it's the most useless.

Autocrossbow. Though technically, since all Tools are merely added to the item list and not exactly "equipped", Edgar doesn't really "have" the Autocrossbow. He sort of gives it to the party.

Haha, some funny extras on this one. Also to the Man, I assumed it was inferred. I'll be more specific from now on. Also to Jiro only Factual corrections get points, not grammatical. Berry, the Noiseblaster is great against some groups of enemies (Confuse is powerful.) :p rubah, english only for points.

1 point is awarded for Autocrossbow, (can have a hyphen or a space there too.) Boko, Point goes to
Flying Mullet, blackmage_nuke, The Turk, The Man, rubah, Denmark, Jiro, Del Murder.

Note on this question. Since this refers to GBA only content, there is a question 3B. Only answer 1 question. If you are fine with me asking more GBA version questions, then ignore 3B.
Question #3. In the Dragons Den, what is the first dragon fought, and what is the difference in that version from the original dragon?

Question #3B. In the WOR, what is used to mark the location of Duncans home?

blackmage_nuke
01-09-2009, 08:17 AM
3B - A group of trees in the shape of a plus sign.

Flying Mullet
01-09-2009, 02:49 PM
3B: Actually, Duncan has two homes. His house in South Figaro where his wife still lives and his "Training Cottage" east of Narshe. His Training Cottage is marked by five trees that form a plus sign or cross and his regular home is marked by the house sprites that make up South Figaro on the map.

Jiro

Denmark
01-09-2009, 08:08 PM

qwertysaur

The answer for 3A is the ice dragon, of which there are four copies to fight instead of 1 in case anybody was curious. I won't ask any more Advance exclusive questions.

1 point for mentioning a tree to mark the cottage where you find the cottage. An extra point if you ALSO mentioned that Duncan has a house in South Figaro. So 1 point to blackmage_nuke, Jiro, The Turk and Del Murder. 2 points for Flying Mullet and Denmark :)

Ah, the element of Water. There attacks were Aqua Rake, Clean Sweep (Both Strago's Lores) The Esper Bismark, and throwing an Aqua Edge.
I am not counting The Water Rondo, as that is not the actual attack, El Nino is the water attack. You can't manually selest El Nino though. =/
The points are a little different this time. The max is 3 points, you get 1 point for at least 1 item, 2 for at least 2. you also get an additional point if one of your attacks was not mentioned by anybody else.

Points. 1 point for Heath, The Turk and Scrumpleberry. 2 points for Flying Mullet, Blackmage_Nuke, Denmank and Jiro. Del Murder Gets 3 points for being the only person to remember the Clean Sweep Lore.

Question 5
You want to get Locke because you want to Steal as much stuff as possible, so he is your top priority. However, you also want to fight the least amount of bosses possible, but at the same time. Other than Celes, what other characters would you have in your party?
You will get 3 points if you also answer this question to get Locke with 2 full parties.

Del Murder
01-16-2009, 06:13 PM
Clean sweep bitches!

You would have Celes, Edgar and Setzer in your party if you wanted to fight the least. The two full parties with least amount of bosses to fight would be:

Celes
Edgar
Setzer
Sabin
Gogo
Gau
Mog
Cyan (you have to fight a boss but I don't think he as anything to steal, in any event I think all the other characters have at least one boss to fight)

Flying Mullet
01-16-2009, 06:20 PM
For clarification, I'm assuming a boss fight is when the boss battle music plays. I'm also counting required bosses, i.e. not dragons.

The least amount of characters you would need in your party to obtain Locke are Celes, Edgar and Setzer. They would be split into two teams of one and two and navigate the Phoenix Cave to find Locke. It would be a bitch but you could do it.

As for the least amount of boss fights to take a full party to find Locke, I've sorted the remaining characters by the number of boss fights needed to obtain them:

Sabin - no bosses
Cyan - No bosses
Mog - No bosses
Gogo - No bosses
Gau - no required bosses
Relm - One boss (Chadarnook)
Terra - One/Two bosses (Phunbaba twice)
Strago - One boss (You must have Relm, so Chardarnook by prerequisite)
Shadow - Two bosses (Sr. Behemoth and Undead Sr. Behemoth)
Umaro - Two bosses (Tritoch, Umaro)

For the five remaining people to make two full parties of four characters each, you would take Sabin, Cyan, Mog, Gogo and Gau and you would not be required to fight any extra bosses.

Denmark
01-16-2009, 07:48 PM
Have to have Celes, Edgar, Setzer. Two bosses (Tentacles and Dullahan).
Sabin doesn't require a boss (requires a scenario in Tzen). Cyan doesn't require a boss (requires going through Mount Zozo). Gau doesn't require a boss (get him on the Veldt). Mog doesn't require a boss (find him in Narshe). Gogo doesn't require a boss (get engulfed by that there Zone Eater).

So that's 8 characters making two full parties while fighting two bosses (which are necessary; just you try to get Locke without an airship).

Did I answer it right?

I genuinely have no idea what the answer is.

Well you only need to have Celes, Edgar and Setzer. But having two full parties? Hmmm.

Celes
Edgar
Setzer
Sabin
Mog
Gau
Cyan
Gogo

I think you can get them without fighting bosses. Not sure though, I didn't fully grasp the question lol. If you want to steal you could just go with Gogo and avoid the Phoenix cave.

qwertysaur
01-18-2009, 10:25 PM
The correct answer is Celes, Edgar and Setzer and any of the following characters:
Sabin
Gau
Cyan
Mog
Gogo
Each of these 5 characters have no bosses needed to battle to get them, but they are all optional to get in the WOR. All the other characters have a boss fight or two that must be defeated before they join you.
3 points for Del Murder, Flying Mullet, Denmark and The Turk. Also thanks for being honest about looking at the answers Jiro and Berry, it means a lot to me :) If you have any confusion over a question, just ask. If your lucky I'll be able to respond in time and you get give an answer.

Question 6
Help! I got the Ragnarok Sword instead of the esper in Narshe and now I want to learn Ultima! What are all the other ways you can learn
the powerful Ultima Spell?

scrumpleberry
01-18-2009, 10:31 PM
Make with the Paladin Shield which you get from fighting 400 battles with the cursed shield equipped. You get the cursed shield in the coliseum or something idk.

There is also another esper I think but I am not sure.

Del Murder
01-18-2009, 10:41 PM
Paladin shield lets you learn Ultima. Get the Cursed shield from the dude in Narshe and fight 255 battles with it equipped. But you said ways plural so I'm guessing something else gives it to you. So I'll take a guess and say Illumina sword gives it. You get that by betting the Ragnarok sword in the coliseum.

Denmark
01-19-2009, 12:17 AM
Paladin Shield is the only other way to get Ultima. Error in the wording of your question!

Oh and you get the Paladin Shield by fighting 256 battles with the Cursed Shield equipped. You can get the Cursed Shield in Narshe in the World of Ruin. It teaches Ultima x1.

The Turk

Help! I got the Ragnarok Sword instead of the esper in Narshe and now I want to learn Ultima! What are all the other ways you can learn
the powerful Ultima Spell?
I honestly cannot remember how to do it, but I know it's a pain in the ass! Just load your game and pick the esper! I'm serious, it's not worth your time trying to learn Ultima any other way!

Hmmm, if I recall you have to steal something from someone and then keep betting that something at the Collisieum to get something else, which you then bet to get something better... I think it may have something to do with a shield.... a rangarok/curse shield that you can uncurse by fighting lots....lol, I'm not sure. I never do it, I usually just go without the spell.

Okay I don't know! I've never got ultima any other way.

Jiro
01-19-2009, 02:15 AM
The Paladin/Hero Shield lets any character learn Ultima, and Terra learns it automatically at level 99 I believe

qwertysaur
01-20-2009, 12:47 AM
Full answer is either getting the paladin shield by uncurseing the Cursed Shield, or leveling Terra to 99 where she learns it naturally. To get the first point you must mention Paladin Shield and Cursed Shield. 1 point for Scrumpleberry, Del Murder and Denmark. Jiro gets 2 points for also mentioning Terra learning it naturally. And as a note, I always get the esper, just a little extra addition to the question. :p

Question #7

I haven't been paying attention to this, but doesn't Terra learn Ultima at level 98? Ultima's kind of pointless at such a high level though because any number of other spells will do just as much damage for less MP (though then again, the super-effectiveness of Osmose makes MP usage pretty much irrelevant as well).

oh and Gold Hairpin

The Turk
01-20-2009, 10:11 AM
Terra learns Ultima at 99, but Celes learns her strongest natural spell, Meteor, at level 98. I can't believe I forgot about Terra learning Ultima naturally on the last question. I was kicking myself.

Question 9. Del wants a harder question, so here it is. What is the most targets fought in a boss battle at once, and what is the boss that is fought. A boss battle is classified as when the typical boss BGM is played.

The Turk
01-23-2009, 01:11 AM
The one that came in to my mind instantly was Airforce- the one you fight in the sky. There's 4 parts to it- Airforce, Speck, Laser Gun and Missiblebay. I'm not even sure if it's possible to fight all 4 sections at the same time, 3 might the most.

There's probably a boss with 5 sections later on in the game, but I'm going for Airforce still.

Damn it Del Muder! I liked the easy questions lol.

blackmage_nuke
01-23-2009, 02:26 AM
Im gunna say Flame Eater with all his little balloon buddies. I think thats 5 all together. Hidon and the Hidonites mightve had more though...

espritduo
01-23-2009, 05:56 AM
Hidon and his four individual Hidonites(Erebus in the GBA version), for 5 different enemies. Plus the Hidonites/Erebus can be revived for an infinite number of enemies.

EDIT: I don't know if adding to your answer is allowed, and if not, just disregard this, but it occured to me that the Flame Eater actually has 6 different targets, although the most you can target at once is only five. The Flame Eater can summon up to four Balloons at once, and sometimes will summon one Grenade instead of the four Balloons, meaning there are 6 possible targets, but only three different enemies and a maximum of five targettable enemies at once. I still give the answer to Hidon, though, because not only are his Hidonites boss-specific enemies(unlike the Balloons), but each one of the four is unique(also unlike the Balloons).

Jiro
01-23-2009, 11:54 AM
Hidon + 4 Erebus/Hidonites, though Flame Eater might match that with Balloons/Bombs. Eh, one of them xD

Flying Mullet
01-23-2009, 01:33 PM
Two boss battles tie with five enemies in the battle. Flame Eater with four balloons and Hidon with four Hidonites.

Del Murder
01-23-2009, 05:34 PM
Wow this one is hard. I want to say Mom Bomb but that's the wrong game! I'm going to guess the fight against all the fishies when you are falling down the waterfall. I can't remember if the boss music plays the whole time but I think it does, and that counts as one continuous battle. I don't remember the name of the fish or how many there are but I'm going to guess and say 13.

qwertysaur
01-24-2009, 01:28 AM
This was a semi trick question, as there are two answers I would accept. The Flame eater with 4 balloons/bombs, or Hidon with his 4 Hidonites/Erebuses, for a total of 5 targets. Even if you managed to get the Airforce to deply a speck/bit, only 4 targets. the waterfall battle doesn't have the typical boss BGM, and also tops at three fish at a time. 1 point for to blackmage_nuke, espritduo, Jiro and Flying Mullet.

Sneeze is the most common attack, but there's also Vargas's "Mortal Attack Blizzard Fist"(although that's more of a cutscene than an attack, strictly speaking), Phunbaba's BabaBreath and Zone Eater's Engulf.

Flying Mullet
01-24-2009, 12:29 PM

24 hours give or take a few. I'll try and be timely with updates, but sometimes I get distracted by internet :p

Also I'll end this question now. There are four attacks in total that can remove a character from battle by force. They are Sneeze, which everyone got, BabaBreath, Engulf, and Blizzard Fist. Sorry Del but I can't accept Inhale, so you can't get the point for Sneeze. 1 point for Scrumpleberry and Flying Mullet, 2 for espritduo and Denmark.

If it's anything like FFV, it's in the beginner's house thing in Narshe, but I have no clue what it is you fight -_-

EDIT: OH! Now I remember! You fight a Silver Lobo, riiiiiight? And you don't actually get anything from the chests riiiiiiiiiiiight? Man, I remember getting so pissed at that...

Edit at 5:31, added to the answer if it's allowed ^_^;;

The chest inside the right-most room in the Training Center just outside of Narshe. You fight a lone Lobo in the chest, and can open it as soon as you have control of Locke and Terra after escaping the mines.

Too bad this is basically the last question with FFVII starting up and all :monster:

The Mesosaur, I think. I can recall almost all the monsters from the Floating Continent because they were very annoying to defeat, and the Mesosaur ain't one of them. :|

Mesosaur, but I swear it had a different name in GBA

That would be the Mesosaur, who appears relatively early in the World of Ruin.
