I thought the Final Fantasy VI ending theme was absolutely stunning, the transaction between at the character's themes was very well executed, especially Locke and Celes.

I also liked the ending theme in Metal Gear Solid but that may just be because it was one of the first ending themes Ive ever heard.

FFVIII - 13 minutes long, and I love every second of it, especially when it segues into the FF Main Theme after Eyes on Me. It's epic in every sense of the word, and is the main reason why I love the ending to FFVIII.

The one that always comes to mind is FFVIII. It's been years since I've played it but still :heart:

Personally, I didn't like the Metal Gear Solid one very much. I guess I am insane!

Also, pretty much all the music from all the endings of Drakengard. Double :heart:

For main FFs, I vote VI and IX having the best. FFTactics also had an awesome ending theme. Xenogears had a touching ending theme.

Metal Gear Solid's was awesome and so was Chrono Trigger's Normal ending.

I love tragic endings... so as far as FF goes the FFX ending would have to be my fav thus far. ^_^ As for happy endings I love FFIX.

From Square, VI is my favorite. Like you said, the medley of the 14 themes coming together was awesome.

I just beat it so it's still fresh in my mind, but Metafalica from Ar Tonelico 2. And Ode to Laharl from Disgaea.

FFI - I have no idea why, but I really like it. :)
FFVIII - Orchestral Eyes on Me + FF theme + little scene at the end = beautifully epic
FFX - not Suteki Da Ne (which is nice, but not my favorite), but the song in the ending FMV. It's touching and fits the scene wonderfully.

Chrono Cross - You know, the actual long ending. Every single song that plays is a masterpiece.

Original Metroid & Metroid II - both very cheery and upbeat. :jess:
Super Metroid - Perfect and triumphant.
Metroid Fusion - It's quiet and rather understated, but it strikes an emotional chord within me somewhere.

"To Far Away Times" for the unconverted, I believe, and I agree with a fervor our language cannot capture. :cool: "Time of the Dreamwatch" from Chrono Cross takes an alternate -- and arguably more impactive -- perspective on the music.

"Life ~ Faraway Promise", I believe, is the track you are referring to, and it is one of the most utterly, savagely poignant pieces of music ever written, as far as I can tell. :cry:

I also quite enjoyed the jazzy Saturn arrangement of Megaman X3's "Credits". Elsewhere, Shadow the Hedgehog, while a somewhat eclectic soundtrack and deeply polarized in terms of quality in the peripheral tracks, has a few decent ending songs. Considering they are led by male vocalists, "Chosen One" and "Never Turn Back" are quite impressive. I find the former to be quite a depressing song, and its style is probably an acquired taste, but it elicits a strong feeling that is not disgust, so I therefore like it. The latter has creative vocals and Jun Senoue on guitar; to screw it up would take some work. ;)
