What's the prettiest word, to you?

I'm a fan of ember and azure, and willow and autumn. I like words that are colors, like auburn.

Urchin, cleave, cradle, busted, dutchess, sensational. Oh, and fabulous of course.

Does it matter if they're English? I really like the way superlatives sound in Latin ~ laetissima, pulcherrima, novissimus~

Why has no one said Chlamydia yet? It's a very pretty word ignoring the meaning.

Also, I'm a big fan of "jus d'orange" in French.

I like the word Weekend.

.:kerrod:.
01-18-2009, 02:34 AM
i'm writing this in both the 'Prettiest Word' and 'Ugliest Word' threads, because it applies to both :D

often, our perception of a word is based entirely off its meaning (eg. 'Weekend' :p), and although there's no real problem with that, i don't think that's what the topic is asking (even though i'm pretty sure i did it too )

Oh, also, focusing on the alphabet, my favourite word to write is "Life" in cursive. My two favourite letters ("L" and "f") are well spaced and evenly balanced to me in this word.
