More specifically, stand-up.

Now, typically I don't like stand-up comedy. But, there are some comedians that I really enjoy watching. My favoritest comedian ever is Lewis Black. Just the way he has melt-downs and pronounces his long U's makes me laugh. And then there's his content. Typically political, but not always. He rants about the absurdities we see in the world (much like I do, too!)

I'm Rick James, bitch!

Dave Chappelle is one of the few comedians who can consistently make me laugh. Oh and Stephen Colbert. He isn't exactly a stand up comedian, but the guy makes me laugh and laugh.

Flight of the Concords makes me laff.

Face probably is familiar with 'em.

Ricky Gervais's stand up is absolutely brilliant. I also saw Ed Byrne live (then again, so have a fair few people on this forum...!) and I thought he was awesome too.

I don't really care much for Lewis Black. To me, he's just a well-educated Dane Cook.

Brian Posehn, Zach Galifianakis, Mitch Hedberg, Patton Oswald, Demetri Martin, Stephen Lynch and Daniel Tosh are probably my favorite comedians right now.

My favourites: Ed Byrne, Adam Hills, Ben Bailey, Lee Evans, Pablo Francisco, Raybon Kan, Rhys Darby, Tony Woods and David Strassman (although I don't know if you'd count him as standard stand-up comedy).
I also like: David O'Doherty, Bill Bailey (his older stuff was better, though), Phil Cool, Jeremy Hotz, Ewen Gilmour, Mike King, Billy T James, Jimmy Carr, Billy Connolly and more.
I've seen live: David O'Doherty, Rhys Darby, Ed Byrne, Adam Hills (two or three times), Ewen Gilmour, Phil Cool, Danny Bhoy, Lords of the Ring and a few others I forget (including a group of Irish people taking turns on stage to promote gigs).

I generally find international (ie, British/Antipodean) comedians to be better than AmeriCanadians, however some Americans have impressed me a bucketload - I still laught at Ben Bailey's stuff every time I hear it. I just dislike how a lot of American comedians rely on things that are seemingly random rather than funny (hate Dane Cook, went through a few videos of his apparent best stuff and barely smiled).

If we're talking about stand-up comedy, then I'd say Mitch Hedberg and Jim Gaffigan gives some of the best shows. If we're talking comedy in general, Flight of the Conchords are one of the best things right now.

This! And as for older comedians, Eddie Griffin was smurfing insane in his day. I like a lot of comedians, but I can't stand Sarah Silverman, Dane Cook, Carlos Mencia, Lewis Black, or actually a lot of female comedians. I love Demetri Martin but I find that he jumps around too fast in his skits. I like him on the Daily Show but not as a stand up comedian.

My guilty pleasure is waking up early and watching comedy central's standup all morning. I hate premium blend though, it goes much too fast to even familiarize yourself with the skit or style of comedy.

I like Wanda Sykes :aimblush: I'm a mainstream ho.

I also like Kathy Griffin even though she is the most annoying person on the entire planet. I have no excuses or explanations for that one.

I like loads of stand-up comedians. At the minute my faves are Michael McIntyre and the classic Eddie Izzard.

BILL MUTHA FUCKIN COSBY.

Mitch Hedberg too, and I agree with Kyle about the Wanda Sykes. Not so much on the Kathy Griffin thing ... she makes me want to punch babies.

Personally I love Rhod Gilbert (of course), Eddie Izzard, Michael McIntyre, Bill Bailey (seriously, I've seen him play piano - he's a stunning pianist), Billy Connolly, Lee Evans, Ed Byrne, Frankie Boyle, Dara O'Briain (who is a complete legend), Jimmy Carr (awesome live), and I also find Derren Brown quite comedic.

I love stand up, me.

Mitch Hedberg is King of all comedy.

I also like Ross Noble, Billy Connolly, Bill Bailey, Bill Hicks, and probably some other guys called Bill.

Oh, and Sarah Silverman.

Hey MILF, let's argue about Sarah Silverman, that's always good times!

Her voice is kind of grating. I can rarely wait long enough to hear the punchline of any joke she tells.

Sarah Silverman makes me sad :( because I think she's really funny but her show makes me sick inside because of the scatology. :'(

Bill Hicks, Billy Connolly, Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle, Dylan Moran, Eddie Izzard & Rhod Gilbert.

If they are not in that list they're either;
1. awful
2. actually pretty good and I've just forgot to list them.
