favorite final fantasy class of all time

As everyone on this forum knows, Final Fantasy games give their characters a unique class that gives them different means of doing damage and healing. Each class is unique and makes the game more versatile. For example, Red mage can use black and white magic, but isnt very good at either; but the white mage can only use white magic and is very weak at physical attacks, but can learn the most powerful white magic spells. Even Final fantasy games that dont have the class change system like in number 3 and 5, they still have the classes. For instance, in final fantasy 9 Zidane is obviously a thief, and Vivi is obviously a black mage. So i have to ask all of the forum members, what is your all-time favorite class in the final fantasy series. This strictly opinionated so dont be a jerk!! Just give your favorite class and why they are your favorite. This will be fun!!

Ill start us off by giving my favorite!


My favorite class is the Blue mage. I like it because of the versatile attacks you can deal to enemies and ally's alike! They can range from a self-damaging attack (blowup) to an attack that puts all enemies and ally's to sleep (night).

Dragon Knights, of course. They have the coolest armor, spears are an interesting melee alternative to swords, and jumping absurdly high is such a fun, unique ability.

Runner-ups are Blue Mages, since they have the best outfits in any game. Berets, domino masks, capes, and shoulderpads? It's nothing less than criminal that this look never became a series standard.





After that, Black Mages. Because of FFIX.

Its got to be the knight or warrior class easily for me in the series. I'm a huge sword nut and my favorite type of swords are medival swords, so that alone makes them my favorite. I also love the fact that all their stats and abilities revolve around pure physical power, from the ability to damage the enemies equipment, to doing massive damage in a single sword swing, to being able to take a beating like no other.

Red mage. Not only do they look cool, but they get to do anything. White magic, black magic, doublecast, or poking people with a rapier. It's great.

I use to be a big fan of red mage. Now I'm into dark knights and paladins. So yeah my favorite is paladin. The Samurai comes next.

For me, it's got to be Dragoon. Everything about them is just awesome, and you can't honestly tell me Kain wasn't one of your favorite FF characters of all time.

It's a tie between thieves and knights. Thieves get cool outfits and I dunno, I guess I like them because of Locke. Knights get awesome swords and get the best armor.

Hmm... from a realistic standpoint, I always have a knight type and a healer type, so those are by far the most useful to me. Anything else varies from game to game, and even playthrough to playthrough.

Overall, I'm gonna have to say Blue Mage as far as my favorite.

On a side note, does anyone NOT use the healer type? My friend played FFVII without a cure materia, and never had Garnet or Eiko in his party in IX. He never ended up beating IX, though he did beat VII using ONLY the Last move Phoenix combo as far as healing. I can't imagine... For the record, he's not one of those people who challenges himself for fun, he's just dumb.

Dragoon is tough to pass up in the 1 slot seeing as how Kain is my favorite character. Summoner's are almost always the strongest magic users and have Leviatian and bahamut most every game which rocks. Thief's are awesome b/c of their very high speed stats, and lets you become better than you should be by stealing weapons or armor you normally couldnt get yet.(especially IX)

I'd have to say the white mage...unless you are going through some sort of challenge, you probably have one in your party most of the time to heal you and support you. They make life much easier.

Monks and Ninjas. I like their choiche of weapons, their honor- code and they are cool. IV and VI are one big orgasm with Yang/Edge and Shadow/ Sabin ( although I like many other characters a bit more than Sabin) .

ninja are the class for me other than that I do like dragoons too!!!
