How do I get a picture to show the picture below it? Not like with adjusting to opacity or changing the layer's style to "color" or whatever, but like blend the two images without losing the integrity of either.

Like I saw a tutorial of it once where there was a crumpled piece of white paper and they put a photo of a forest on it to make it look like it was a crumpled picture of a forest. I thought I saved that tutorial but I seem to be unable to find it.

Sounds like they may have used the displace feature.

Photoshop Tutorial - Placing Artwork On Uneven Surfaces | PhotoshopSupport.com (http://www.photoshopsupport.com/tutorials/cb/displace.html)

That may help you.

Oh cool! I was kind of trying to find an idea for my next sig. I'd expect it to work the same on GIMP. :p

I'm not sure of the machanics of GIMP. but if it has a displace feature then yes it should.

It's taken me a little practice, but I'm able to do everything I used to do with Photoshop on GIMP-- although stuff I normally do doesn't extend past transparencies, cut/paste, layers, etc.

EDIT: Just checked. GIMP does have a displace feature.

Then it should work, probably not to the extent it does in Photoshop, but to a decent level none the less.
