Noby Noby Boy

Well its out today and I've tinkered with it for a couple of hours now. Problem is that its such a hard game to describe. Or more importantly its hard to describe why I love it so much. I've already got a couple of impressions of the game off my PS3 friends list and most of them hate it, mainly because its not much of a game but more like a tech demo.

I like this game for a number of reasons. Firstly there is no negative pressure on you at any time which coupled with the games aesthetics makes you feel very relaxed and happy. The game always remains silly and I love that, even the mini game in the pause menu is a ton of fun in my opinion. The music and sound effects in the game are always nice to listen to as well. I won't go into detail about the game mechanics as Ill likely give myself a headache but they work well.

I dunno really. Its just fun to mess around in. No real reason why I like it so much. Just do.

I looked it up, since the game looked familiar, and it turns out it was created by the same mind that brought us the Katamari Damacy series. It kills me that I can't play this, but oh well.

Weigh the options. In Katamari Damacy, you can use a tiny ball and pick up stuff until you can pick up people, animals, and random household objects, and send it up to the King of the Cosmos who will turn them all into a burning star or stardust.

In Noby Noby Boy, you eat. And eat. And eat. And get longer. Then you can eat your own butt for a fanfare.

It all comes down to what seems more fun-- sadistic pleasures of cosmopyromania or gluttony. :p

I think Kentarou might have been thinking on the side of 'one who is rolled/Noby'd up'. I'd gather that the Katamari one would be more frightful, because if the Prince rolls a bigger star than the one you're on, then *poof*.

At least in Noby Noby Boy, you get pooped back out eventually. If you're lucky and Boy eats an animal or a fruit after you, you might get transformed into something new!

Noby Noby Boy is a crazy game. Pretty fun to just watch weird things happen and be confused the whole time. Traveling to other planets is cool.
