Xenogears: Ice Weap Help!!!

The chapter I'm in is called "Into Solaris". I heard that this is the last time I see the world map as it is, so I decided to max out everybody's Deathblows. Now here's the deal - everybody's doing fine, except for Elly. I can't get ther to learn her final Deathblow - Ice Weap. It's not that her level isn't high enough - it would say 100 then, yet the number next to the name of the Deathblow is 99. I'm also positive that I'm using the right combination (I know about the flaw and that to learn the T,S,T,X and S,T,T,X Deathblows I need to use the T,T,S,X combination) yet she doesn't seem to want to learn the attack! Now what is the problem? Is she just a slow learner when it comes to this skill, or does it have to be learned in a story event? Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, please post ASAP. I need help!

Many of the characters have issues like this for their final deathblows. I find what works best is to alternate between using her top four deathblows in battle (including the one you're trying to learn). Elly is always pretty stubborn about it I'm afraid. Billy is the other one who gives me trouble.

Also, you do get to see the world map in Disc 2 just at the very end. There are actual side quests in the second half. :)

Surprisingly, Billy didn't object at all. So all I gotta do is be more stubborn than Elly and she'll learn it! Eventually... At leat that gives me time to master all the Deathblows of Fei, who is the slowest learner of all... Thanks a lot, Wolf Kanno ;)

No problem, Fei isn't too terribly hard, he just has those high level restrictions. Yet it seems that won't be a problem for you. :D
