"America's Roller Coast!"

The weather in late Spring at Lake Erie is absolutely gorgeous. It will not be too hot or too cold. Maybe bring a light jacket for after dusk. Hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sandusky is an hour from Cleveland, Two and a half hours from Columbus, Four hours from Cincinnati, Four and a half hours from Chicago and three hours from Pittsburgh.

Cedar Point has 17 roller coasters and a whole bunch of other rides. Quite a few of their roller coasters were the tallest in the world at the time they were built. It’s on a peninsula on Lake Erie, and Sandusky is pretty easy to travel to and through.

Tickets are $43, but I think you can get tickets for $33.

Doomsday? Have you ever been to COSI? I don't think it's that kind of place. It's more geared for kiddies. There's more than rollercoasters at KI. They have DDR. Case closed. Their arcade is pretty sweet. You can also win a giant ass gorilla in some carnaval games. I have a 6 foot tall teddy bear from last year >=3

I'm most definitely down for this. I was actually planning to post a thread for this when it warmed up even more. Seems I was beat. Though I'm still thinking a local Ohio-ans meet up for a day wouldn't be half bad.

As far as my input, King's Island sucks, kiddy coasters and much smaller. Cedar Point is far and away superior.

Cosi is kiddy as well, but I could manage there if there were other EoFFer's.

I would much prefer something closer to Columbus, but that's because I'm fairly lazy, and I could also probably drag WhatVVB to it as well. XD

I'VE BEEN THERE! It's like a village but with shops. I raided Buckle AE & the Resteraunt bar upstairs somewhere. It was 2 years ago things are cloudy.

Meh Easton is s'ok. Polaris is better.

It's a lot more shops, with more cooler ones to hang out inside, and their all closer together. And they have more interesting ones to check out. The only drawback is the theater is further away, but not by a whole lot.

It seems Cedar Point is the favorite pick so far. :p I have no problem with that. Whoever is my riding partner though had better be able to keep up! :D If you work fast enough you can get it all done by around six or seven, leaving three hours for re-rides. ;)

Mantis' restrictions must have been lowered; I remember being denied a ride because I was shorter than the 5' restriction they had at the time.

Also, keep in mind that you can be too tall to ride. If you're over 6'2" or so, good luck getting on newer roller coasters like Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster. You can also be too fat. :-/

They won't measure you and say, "nop too tall :mad2:". It just matters if you can fit in the seat or not. So you could be that tall but skinny and still fit.

There's a seat at the beginning of the line so you can check if you're too tall or not. ;)

Okay well since we seem to have decided on Cedar Point, now we need to pick a date!

Linus has said that June would work best if he can come, and he can only come if he gets this job.

Hsu has suggested that a weekend would work best. Hsu, would Friday be considered a weekend day to you?

My recommendation: Friday June 5 or Sunday June 7. Preferably the Friday, for the shorter lines. I really want to avoid Saturdays, because the line waits will be significantly longer, especially if we go in late June. (Like 3 hours+. :()

Of course, if it turns out that a weekday works out for everyone, we can go on a Wednesday and have a LOT of free time! :D

(Also, please don't suggest a date unless you seriously intend on coming. Thanks!)

Well, weekends I don't work, but neither does everyone else. Tuesdays are the best time to go to amusement parks. What normally would take you 2 hours in line will take 5 minutes.
