Stupid controller...

For no apparent reason, my PS2 controller now works intermittently/not at all. The little red light blinks on and off, and it's really annoying me. I was going to buy another controller tomorrow anyway so my dad and I could play 2-player games, but now I think I need another and I don't have $25 to spend on another. Any suggestions or help?

How old is it? It sounds to me like the cord just kind of got kinked after so many years of use. Mine are all just about to that age, I should really replace them soon >.>

It was used, and I've had it for about 2 or 3 months. But my dad said he'd buy me a new one anyway, so I guess I'm okay. Just wonder what happened to it. D:

It's NEVER a good idea to buy a used controller. My experience is that controllers sold are usually defective in someway.
