chimara and golden armors

so i read you can get golden armors from chimaras. I have tried stealing but only get hyper wrists. I have killed a nice amount of them and have not had the armor drop.

Am i missing something? I could easily steal the gaia gears, but this gold armor is giving me a headache.

It's probably a rare drop, so you'll have to keep killing them without stealing (I think if you steal from a monster they dont drop items) and it will eventually drop it. Gold armour isnt that great anyway.

well the way i was reading this walkthrough it said that the gold armors would be good for edgar and cyan. that was after it mentioned how to get the gaia gear armors.

it made me think that edgar and cyan could not wear gaia gear, or that gold armor would be better for them.

I think you'd have an easier time defeating the Chimeras and using the Gil to buy the armor...

I don't need to kill chimaras for money, i found a small secluded area of sand that can sometimes spawn two fossils (fossil dragon things) and two of them give about 3k gp just have sabin use firedance and edger use flash if your team is lower in levels. great source of gp after you get the airship in wob.
