I think that The Falcon is a tribute to the Led Zepelin's song Stairway to Heaven.

No, Nukie hasn't finally broken his clock and needs his chair fixed to reach the roof, if you think about it there is most certainly a connection.

Firstly the name - Stairway to Heaven. Recall the long staircase which leads down the Falcon, an airship which Daryll wished to make her "known as the woman who flew closest to the stars!" or as some might say "The Heavens".
Several lines in the song show a connection
"If the stores are all closed".
You will notice that The BlackJack had a shop but Falcon does not!
"Theres a sign on the wall
But she wants to be sure
cause you know sometimes words have two meanings."
The sign on Daryll's tomb states "DARYL SLEEPS HERE", Debated amongst fans if Daryl's body is in fact buried in the tomb.
"Theres a feeling I get
When I look to the west,"
When you are on the deck of the airship and when you land the airship. The airship always faces the west!
"And a new day will dawn
For those who stand long"
It is hard to tell if the world of Ruin is in a state of perpetual sunset or sunrise, (I like to think sunrise) but this view of the sunrise can only be accessed when flying the airship (However the view was also visible at the start of the world of ruin)
"Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run
Theres still time to change the road youre on."
You can choose to either get more characters or just attack Kefka's tower after you get the Falcon.

Lastly Led Zeppelin just a coincidence? I think not!

m'i'rite?

After learning I've been getting rickrolled by Robo's theme all these years, I wouldn't put it past square. Interesting theory.

Even if your theory weren't sound (and it totally is), you'd have my support based on this reference alone.

That would explain why I hear satanic messages when I play the theme on the airship backwards. I'm sold.

FFVI is riddled with cultural and religious symbols, so I wouldn't be one to deny this to be true.

The original Airship was way cooler then The Falcon. The music that plays whilst in the Falcon annoys me and the original Airship had roulette and blackjack need i say more? Though this has no relevance to the matter at hand i realize, just felt like saying it.

Dude, how in the hell did you come up with this theory? This is the most epic thing I've ever read in my life (and I've read many an epic). If this thread were a religion, I'd join it based off this assumption alone.

This is genuinely the best theory I've read for a long time. And I've spent the past eight weeks doing a university course on social theory.
