I've always dreamed of going to the middle of the desert in Arizona or New Mexico at night... I love arid heat, and, in a sky bereft of heavy light pollution, there'd be so many stars visible. I'm a heinous star-gazer, ya see. Simple things like that wipe away all negativity from my mind. :)

With whom would I be? As much as I cherish my loved ones, I prefer solitude in settings as picturesque as that. It allows me to think clearly, I guess. Then again, I don't think I've yet met anyone who's silly like me and gets all googly-eyed just watching the sun rise.

Oh, yeah, I've also wanted a small gazebo or something in the middle of a lush forest - some place to sit and do some good reading. Again, there's the whole solitude factor for me.

Ideally, some nexus in the universe where all of the people who matter to me can live while not having to give up any of the people they care about.

Though, on the other hand, I wouldn't mind going somewhere secluded with Allie. Maybe a dog, too. I guess it doesn't really matter where, as long as it's nice and has a view. Maybe somewhere in Europe!

My dream place eh? Well, no mansions for me, far to large for my taste. I would like a modest sized home, perhaps in a certain city in North Carolina. It would be far enough away from neighbors, I hate feeling enclosed in by other houses. As for the people, the only person there to enjoy it with me would be Nikki ;D because god knows our families piss us off.

Old cities

Last summer I got to spend a couple days in Italy for work and the old city of Bergamo was totally awesome. We drank at a bar that had been operating for over 500 years.

As for my dream place, hopefully it will be Fairbanks, Alaska, at least for the next year or so.
