Do you think Ernst Blofeld should be reinvented for Bond 23? They reinvented Bond in Casino Royale so why not? At this moment I can't imagine Michael Sheen as Blofeld but if they get the right director for Bond 23 it won't matter who's playing Blofeld it'll still be good.

While the link you gave seems to not be working, it's also listed as a rumored role on his IMDB page.

I can't say Blofeld's return is particularly surprising. As Quantum seems to be taking the same role that SPECTRE held in earlier movies, this can hardly be considered shocking news that Blofeld might emerge as its leader. At the same time, I had thought perhaps that they might introduce a new character as the lead. Then again, as a reimagining of the series, that's probably also unnecessary.

As far as casting Michael Sheen for the role... well, given that the new series depicts a Bond much more similar to the one we see in the books, we might also see a very different kind of Blofeld. Flemming's description of Blofeld said he was formerly a body-builder who had long since gone out of shape--nothing like his depiction in the previous movies. There's a lot of room for a lot of changes, so I'm not going to worry about casting Michael Sheen (someone who certainly seems odd for the Blofeld role as it's already been established) quite yet.

Michael Sheen might be Bond baddie Blofeld | Film | guardian.co.uk (http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2009/jun/16/michael-sheen-bond-blofeld) is the link you want, I think.

I'm a big fan of Michael Sheen's and I think he's very good at whatever he appears in. I very much enjoyed his performances in The Damned United, Frost/Nixon and The Queen. I'd certainly like to see him reprise the role of Tony Blair in some more British political dramas. I can't quite imagine him doing Blofeld, but I can certainly predict him doing a good job of it.

As for the return of Blofeld, I've only read Casino Royale and Diamonds are Forever so I'm not as clued up on Blofeld as perhaps I should be, but I'd certainly welcome the change. I think that Blofeld in the Daniel Craig era could be quite easily adapted and fit into the current Quantum saga and is something I'd certainly like to see.

Michael Sheen is like Gary Oldman or Denzel Washington. Cast him for whatever part you want and he will dominate it.

Do you think Michael Sheen could do for Blofeld what Heath Ledger did for the Joker?

I don't think Blofeld as a character has anywhere near as much potential as someone like the Joker to allow such a thing.

So you're saying Blofeld isn't as interesting as The Joker? :jokey:
