View Full Version : Songs you hate by bands you hate

Concept slightly nicked and changed slightly from Sephex's thread.

Anyway, we all have musical artists that we dislike, but is there a particular song that you especially hate by them? Or basically songs you really don't like generally?

I have never been able to stomach the song Lady in Red by Chris de Burgh. I strongly dislike the man himself. Even moreso because of this song.

In order for us to advance forward as society, the following bands/singers need to dissapear from this world.

Lady Gaga
Katy Perry
3oh!3

Not quite the topic, but I feel the need to express my hatred of this music.

3oh!3They're growing increasingly more annoying every time I have to switch the station when that song comes on.

Nickelback can diaf also.

Jonas Brothers, mostly Kids of the Future. It took my favourite song from Digimon when I was like 6, and made it suck.

That damn Sick Puppies song. That song combines the WORST part of alternative rock with the WORST part of nu-metal. And there is no good part when it comes to nu-metal.

I despise everything Paris Hilton and Tila Tequila stand for. Their "music" contributes absolutely nothing to our culture or society, and it is some of the most soulless audio I have ever heard.

I would like to submit "Stars Are Blind" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gO3mGPXeSE) and "Fuck Ya Man" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77csQIDuogk) for your consideration.

The genre of "gangsta rap" in general. Sorry, but I prefer lyrics that actually matter.

Stay away from that man who looks like he ate a box of costume jewelry and forgot to floss,Johnny. You'll catch his stupid.

Hmmm... to make things simple...

If it gets airtime on MTV or VH1, chances are very good that I'll hate the song and the artist (lol artist) as well. Especially the stuff that's aimed at people under 20.

Oh, and anything with auto-tune. Seriously. What the fuck. Why don't you just wear a shirt that says 'Hey, I can't sing!'?

There are very few artists that I absolutely dislike but I'd have to say All American Rejects is on that list. "Give You Hell" is one of the worst songs I've ever heard.

I was going to say that VH1's Music > MTV's music but then I remembered that you listen to JPop, JReggae and JBluegrass so it would have been moot anyway. :bounce:

I believe anyone who gets famous through a talent show like that clearly sold their soul to the record company. They are made into stars; their image and their music, everything is written and thought out by the record company. Therefore I believe they are fake.

I'm sorry. I know people worship the Beatles-shagging ground they walk on, but I cannot stand the band and the bit that goes "And maybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...." for about ten minutes makes me want to surgically, if slightly inprecisely remove my eardrums with a knitting needle.

On-topic: I hate Coldplay, Radiohead, Oasis, The Arctic Monkeys, and though I don't hate them, consider The Beatles to be pretty much the most overrated thing in all of Human history.

The mighty have fallen. While I can agree that the "evolution" they've made with their music isn't exactly one I enjoy thoroughly, they still do make pretty decent songs and music in general. I also enjoyed what they did with "In Rainbows" distribution-wise, I didn't care much for the CD itself.

The rest of those bands I can agree with completely. I never understood why The Beatles were considered "gods".

Gwawr
07-14-2009, 10:08 PM
The Beatles basically took early 20th Century blues and put a faster drumbeat to it. It borrows heavily from 1950s rock 'n' roll and doesn't really take it much further until the 70s, where they discovered drugs and went basically 'all weird'.

I've seen 14 year-olds write better.

Pretty much 99% of stuff I hear on the radio (whenever the rare occassion I actually turn it on), so thats anythign commercial/popular I don't like.
I remember hearing a Lady Gaga song with the lyrics "ride on your disco stick" in a pet shop, and then I lost all faith in any commercial music....

I usually listen to music that is not mainstream or heard... mainly texas rap... but i know from experaince, nearly everyone has their bad opinion of rap and hate .. but I've gotten used to that

Also I can't stand any of that heavey metal/death metal/emo/screamo music... just noise...

She may be a good singer but, like everyone that comes out of a TV show, they get terrible songs to sing so they're painful. I've hated every Leona Lewis song because they sent her down the wrong genre to sing.

& I'm gonna get crucified for this, but i hate The Beatles. I don't care if they influenced people to write good music, I just dislike what they produced

The simiplicity of the Jonas music is rather intolerable for myself.

and about 90% of the songs that Nickelback spew out are rather similar, yes I know the LYRICS may be different, but it's the same similar pitch of vocal, same lacking compositions and BPM is never too different.

Lyrics wise, I tend to stray from songs that say Popopokahfaesepopohpokahfaesmohmohmohmoh.

Their version makes no sense.

So what, they're saving people from.... sitting by the pool? And having no fun...? Music videos need to make sense to be good. Unless you're the Beatles or Pink Floyd.

Everyone in the background looks like they would rather be ANYWHERE else. And the brothers look so retarded. Also I love the lifeguard doing a facepalm like "What god did I piss off to get into this :bou::bou::bou::bou:ty 'music' video?"

Also, worst cover? Yes, it's bad on purpose, but this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yfh3xVLINy4) is definitely terrible.

So terrible it's good.

And that's terrible.
