Is this why I received no mail today or is that because no one likes me?

I'm right here, rubah. Have been all day. I'm not very patriotic. :)

Why the smurf does Canada have it's own day? Nobody likes Canada!

Disclaimer: The above post is not the opinion of the poster, who actually loves Canada and very much hopes to go there one day

I didn't have any liquor whatsoever yesterday and was stuck with an annoying child for the fireworks, which failed on every attempt to make a maple leaf, but were alright anyway. So yeah, not a great Canada day for me this year. No beers being the worst point of the day. ;{

I may have used the word 'Canada' yesterday which means that I'm clearly very proud of a country I've never been to.

Oh, I had beers. :)

Haha. Way to rub it in. ;o

But was it a Canadian beer?

It was America's Hat day, and I missed it? :p

But really, many parts of Canada are quite beautiful, and I look forward to going back in the near future.

Eh, I did nothing in particular in celebration. To be honest, I find the whole idea of patriotism a bit difficult to comprehend. Whenever a first-world country (whether the "high on manifest destiny" United States of America, or the diminutive Canada) insists on adorning itself with righteous pride and praise, I tend to marvel at the fact that we are living on a planet that has yet to master the process of eating on a daily basis. :eep: Take Africa (the planet's "dirty little secret", essentially, to which dozens of countries have collectively uttered a huge "whoops" over the centuries). Seriously, that the basic needs of human food consumption could be met, but are not, seems like evidence to me of the immaturity of our species, and the celebrations of "Canada Day" and the like are displays of unearned pride.

And it isn't as if holidays of this kind have much to do with "patriotism", anyway; mainly they are a celebration of nothing in particular, equipped with an intriguing quantity of fireworks. ;)

I was working all day. Exhausted, I went to bed.

I have a canada flag tattoo. I'm done with my good deed for that day.

My neighbours lawn has many, many Canadian flags stuck in it...still. And they're still celebrating. My lawn just need mowing. :cat:
