Its the youngest daughter far away from home. It plays out a lot like the original. Its definitely got the visual and trippy flair. It doesn't quite enthrall and captivate like the original, but most of the elements are still there. Just not as much. And the resolution worked out a bit weird. The plot kinda trades off from time to time, which caught me off guard and took some getting used to, but after adjusting I kinda liked it. Overall I enjoyed the movie a lot. Not as much as the original. And it coulda been a little shorter. And deeper and less emo. But yeah. I don't think its hate worthy, but people probably won't enjoy it -as much-. But really. Who is expecting to? Its worth a watch at least

I'll watch it. I liked the original quite a bit, so I'll give it a chance. Just one though.

I didn't like Donnie Darko as much as everyone else seemed to. So I probably wouldn't like this.

smurf that noise, the original director says he had absolutely nothing to do with it. He's never even read the script. I didn't like Donnie Darko the first couple of times I saw it, then I saw it stoned and loved it. I don't want this steaming pile of crap mucking up my unusually high estimation of Donnie Darko.

I don't think that anyone who holds the original movie in any sort of high esteem would watch this, even ironically, except out of morbid curiosity. xD

Morbidly curious, right here! *Points downward unto self*

Certainly was my reasoning as well. But still I wasn't as disappointed as I would have thought
