Today marks the 233rd birthday (or rather; anniversary of independence) of the United States of America!

On Independence Day, Liberty's crown reopens - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090704/ap_on_re_us/us_liberty_crown)

Nearly eight years after September 11, 2001, the Crown of the Statue of Liberty is finally reopen! (I can't believe it took that long!)

Today, I'm going to my aunt's house for a barbecue, and we're gonna watch the fireworks on TV tonight. What are you guys planning to do today?

I shall do nothing today.

If I feel like it, I might see if the neighbors are doing anything.

It's the fourth and also one of my best friend's birthday, so I have two obligations to get drunk.

We Dutchmen always had independance(and windmills). No need to celebrate it. >_>

Here is a message from John Adams. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HD1x_kZRQQ)

Going to watch the play Evita. I don't really celebrate the holiday like other people. Usually I'm in another state on vacation.

My only other contribution is this...

I'm not going to be doing anything today. Probably won't even go outside.

Hahahahahahahaahahahahahaha <3 Kirobaito.

Yeah not doing anything today. Suppose I could go grab some beers and a burger? Might do that actually, come to think of it. I mean I'm not a Yank but on the other hand an excuse is an excuse. Not like most other people are Irish but that doesn't stop them on St. Paddy's Day.

Or I might play Hearts of Iron 2, force a Communist revolution in '36, and have the US join the Comintern. Hey, it means we'll deal with Herr Hitler even sooner!

I'm not doing anything because I'm British. I'll probably still get drunk later though.

Last year (in San Diego) we said we would go mad with Americans for the fourth of July, but by the time we got down to the beach at 8, everyone was going home.

My family were going to do something. My uncle from VA called and asked what we were going to do I had told him that my brother was supposed to come and I was going to cook. He also asked about my cousins too, but I didn't know what they were up to.

my momn called later and said that my brother is staying in his city and going over to a friends instead and my cousins are going to a girlfriend's too, so I'm guessing that my Uncle won't come and it'll just be me and mom. Uwheh.

They're having a big ho-down at the park near my house, and we can all guess how attracted I am to ho-downs. I also made cake pops!

Happy 4th of July America. Grats on being an awesome country.

If I were to ever get a second flag tattoo it would be USA flag in the shape of a heart. Yes really.

It looks like my topic has been merged with another...

Anyway, I had a good time. I watched both the NYC Macy's Celebration and the Washington DC celebration. It was great!

Now you mention it, I think in parts of the country there is a small celebration the day we got liberated. But it's not such a big thing.

I 'celebrated' the independence of the most overatted country in the world, and I must say, it was more fun than I thought, considering I amused half-drunk 50-somethings with my delightfully poor croquet skills. (I was beaten by a five year-old.)
