poll forthcoming
Snow Leopard will ship in September and will cost $29 for current Mac OS X 10.5 owners. Meanwhile, those customers who have purchased a Mac since June 8th can receive Snow Leopard for $9.95 though Apple's "Up to Date" program.
background info: my laptop won't run off of battery. If I move, it dies. It's also about three years old now. new specs would be
• 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
• 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
• 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
• SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
• MacBook Pro 15-inch Glossy Widescreen Display
• Backlit Keyboard (English) / User's Guide
• AppleCare Protection Plan for MacBook Pro (w/or w/o Display) - Auto-enroll
for about $200 more than my fellowship covers ($200 out of pocket, then whatever tax I'll have to pay later)

Right now, but only if I get to play with it.
If you can afford it, go for it! Go go go!
I have my eye on one of the smaller older Macbooks. I really like how clean and organized they are, and the photography features. I was really flirting with saving up for one and buying one this summer, but I can't justify it because I have two other laptops that are less than a year old, plus the fact that I need to save up for study abroad adventures. :|

No, but only because everyone else said to go for it. But if you really want it, I won't care enough to not kill you for it.

Yes but only if the first thing you do with your new laptop is send me a PM about how great Neil Patrick Harris is.

I wholly support the purchase of something that is good and useful.
So even a Dell would be preferable to your current choice!

The most important computer spec to me is that it looks cool. Everything else is just stupid numbers

There is no poll option for "Ewww!".

I'm with Lev. I get someone else to check the specs but quite frankly I don't care because all I need it to do is basic stuff and look good.

I think it looks rather yummy, mind you it would depend on $$, I'm quite a 'thrifty' person.

I voted NO. Not for any real reason, but it is Quin Company policy to oppose the staff whenever possible.
