And yes! A lot of people here play FFXI. I used to play but I took a long break from it and now I'm not planning on going back. I'll just hang tight until FFXIV comes out, I guess. :choc2:

yea i kinda figured im gona be coming in on the down hill side of this game. but with so many people that have consoles online now i imagine FFIV will do vastly better. thats why i think the're giving MMOs another shot. I mean how many people had PS2's online compared to PS3's and then there will have to be a pc version to so...

Might want to start proofreading your Roman numerals, friend! I think you meant FFXIV. ;)

And yeah, I totally agree with you about the amount of people that connect for online play with a PS3 compared to a PS2. Check out the rest of the FFXI forum and I'm sure you can find out who else still plays. Good people, those guys; they can give you some serious tips on how to play your job if you need help or, if you're on the same server, get you through some missions and quests. Good luck! :choc2:

There should be a Roman numeral test when registering to the board or perhaps before posting in any sub-forum encompassing IV or higher. The IX, XI thing has been pretty bad in the past... now with XIV I'm seeing some people really having trouble on pretty much every FF related forum.

As to the original topic, yeah I play. Some people may think it's on its way down, but I think the game is much better now than it was 2-3 years ago. It's finally accessible. There are slightly less people per server, which is a good thing for FFXI. SE finally has fixed some of the most egregious errors that they let go for far too long. Additionally, they've made soloing a possibility and leveling in generally is aided by a lot of new features, so it's just not as bad as it was.

I would be more likely to suggest someone play the game now than I would've any time in the first 5 years of the game.
