Hottest Video Game Babe Tournament

[Agent Proto]

Hello and welcome to the Hottest Video Game Babe Tournament. This is were I collect 64 pixel babes to fight for your votes to win the rights to the title of hottest video game babe of EoFF. In the first tournament, aptly named Sexiest Female Video Game Character Tournament, the winner turned out to be Seung Mina of the Soul Calibur series. This time around we have a new cast of babes.

We will have four brackets of 16 babes each, and to start this tournament off we will take a day to vote for each bracket, so we will take four days to finish the first round. After the first round, things will go quicker. I won't reveal all the babes in the tournament right away, but we will soon find out in the coming days.

Voting will take place in this thread. You may vote however you like, and you are free to include commentaries as you vote. I will include links to pictures of the babes to assist you in voting. You are free to share pictures of characters you support.

Certain of you have some seriously bizarre criteria for what constitutes feminine "hotness", but . . . *shrug* What the hell. :erm: I chose to nominate; might just as well ply my weight to the proceedings.

1. Rikku, hands down. I know nothing whatsoever of Sheva. As for Rikku . . . from what I am told, the character is a complete freaking moron in-game (she was certainly no philosopher in FFX :roll2), but by purely physical criteria (the ones that matter when the personalities are not familiar), the details like the blue bandana, a personally preferable skin tone, and significantly better hair make the difference.

2. Melrose. Again, unfamiliar with either character, and no question about this one, either. Sialeeds is far too much the pneumatic whore, and too obvious a caricature of what is supposedly "the desirable woman" by your average male's standards. I don't know about the rest of you, but I will favor the woman with lean features and dark eyes over the hentai simulation begging for orgasm any day. :eep:

3. Asuka Kazama. Eh, no particular interest in either one; this is purely a throwaway vote.

4. Sheena Fujibayashi. *Nods* Not familiar with the character, but I like her; quite an excellent character design as far as attire and color scheme goes. There is a certain amount of genuine beauty to the contrast between the soft colors and razor-sharp eyes. That is actually quite something; one could admire her for a while . . . :erm: As for Morrigan . . . I have never been fond of the "desperately seeking sex with anything with oxygenated blood" look. :roll2

5. *Shrug* Alkaid, I guess? She at least appears as if she has some amount of individuality to her, which is far more attractive than your average uniformed schoolgirl drawn from a 40-something year-old male's submission fantasy.

6. KOS-MOS, in no uncertain terms. One could almost count the polygons on the other character :laugh:, and KOS-MOS has a hell of a great deal going for her to begin with (probably exceeding the entirey of Bracket A, in my opinion).

7. *Shrug* Talim it is, although it is less out of a liking for this deep-end anime style than an overt dislike of the design of this Camellia person.

Not a lot of really good ones in this bracket. Tifa wasn't really that hot until AC, in which case she was geourgeous. And Von Karma is a super sexy beast. Especially when she does that withdraw like pose when you beat her in a bout of questioning. It's like, super cute. :love:

Oi! Don't say that. :mad2: This is not the time to back down; this is the time to beg for Agent Proto's leniency, and bestow upon her gifts and sparkling things! Kid must be given her proper shot, despite the obvious carelessness of our voting membership (myself included) . Hell, I would even be fine with Kid replacing my earlier nomination of Schala Zeal (they are both essentially the same person; both are exceptionally beautiful, but Kid has some better concept art :erm:). That might be a better idea, actually; after all, if I am allowed to bend the regulations by nominating extra females, my treatment should not be special -- everyone should be allowed to do so, and then there would be chaos, and we cannot have that.

If you would rather not screw with your numbers, Agent Proto, would you be willing to perform such an exchange (Kid to replace Schala)? :D If so, you have my word that you will hear no more in the way of complaints from me.

See, NeoCracker, now is the time to keep our heads down, lest they be hacked off when Lady Proto decides they would be less irritating severed from our necks than attached to them. :erm:

Right; Bracket B.

1. Princess Zelda. Thanks go to ljkkjlcm9 for posting a more becoming image for the woman. I am not terribly fond of the bridal gown look, but the violet camisole-type garment allows for some of her form to be less of a mystery, which in this case is a positive thing. As for Cammy, her image is considerably more slutty, and the hat inexplicably bothers me. A great deal. :nonono:

2. Samus Aran, undoubtedly. Are we certain that Krusche Elendia is female? :erm: Well, contrary to Zelda's style mentioned above, Samus permits little of her anatomy to remain at all mysterious. ;) She manages to pull the style off considerably better than Cammy, however; no massive, unnecessary holes in the garment to border just that much closer on nudity -- Samus' suit is entirely skintight, and such garments actually tend to feel good for the wearer. Thus, Samus is not mere eye-candy; she serves her own purpose.

3. Rydia of Mist. No contest to be had here, really; there is nothing whatsoever special Claire Redfield, to my mind. As for Rydia . . . that is a lovely woman. :) I suspect the green hair does much to fuel the overall physical attractiveness she exudes (sort of a Dirge Of Cerberus Weiss hairstyle, taken to a more feminine length, arrangement, and color), and the eyes are very . . . "Sephiroth", although not in an ominous manner -- more like intense curiosity, boring effortlessly into the eyes of those who confront her directly, because it is part of her personality. That, and she combines the aesthetic styles of a gossamer-thin torso garment and some prodigiously flowing capes. Sexy without being trashy or obsequious; she exudes a confidence I like a great deal.

4. Elhaym Van Houten. Again, her competition is entirely unworthy of her. The slightly "drunken" look of Elly's gaze repulses me a bit, but that hair of hers is easily knee-length in places, which is a beautiful thing. ^_^

5. Nina Williams, although this is a somewhat reluctant vote. Nudity for nudity's sake is seldom appealing for any length of time, and there is no reason for what was probably a leather coat/vest to be shredded to leave her naked in the most inconvenient places (the back of her rips, for instance; such a thing would get irritating for the wearer, I would guess). The factors which save her are the engaging expression she has in this particular screenshot, and those stylish gauntlets.

6. Tifa Lockhart. Well, this one is partly an issue of relative detail. Tifa is rendered with an astounding quantity of detail, allowing for the complexities of skin and fabric texture and shadow depth to act in her favor, while Helena is a fairly crappy PS2-era model in a ridiculous swimsuit. :roll2 Tifa has the somewhat rare feature of black hair (bound in a very interesting way -- automatic points :D), and, oddly enough, her lips in this shot are especially engaging. Very thin, untroubled. Good to see that she was granted an appropriately expressive face in Advent Children, allowing her to evolve somewhat from the set of mammary glands she embodied in FFVII. :eep:

7. I have a hard time believing I am saying this, but . . . Ayla. :laugh: Never really thought of the ineloquent, brutal Ayla in the context of attractiveness before, but this vote is more the result of her opponent collecting negative points than Ayla herself accumulating positive ones. I find Kitana fairly unpleasant to look unpleasant to look at, actually; the dead eyes and bland bodysuit do her no real favors. And call me sexist if you will, but litheness and delicacy are to me attractive feminine traits, and granted, Ayla is anything but delicate, but she is less overtly brawny than the tree-legged Kitana. <_< >_>

8. Whoa, Seth Balmore, absolutely. The strange thong/half-circle-skirt combination notwithstanding, that glance could cut someone in half, and that is an exceptionally elegant weapon. Interesting how much the tool lends to its wielder . . . :plotting:

Some interesting nominees have presented themselves thus far, and we are approximately halfway through the first round . . . Some truly attractive in both physical and ambient senses (details like facial expression and auras of confidence or passion suit the latter category), and some who push the profundity of femininity back several steps. *_* I am unfamiliar with the vast majority of the women being admired, but two gems sparkle with unexpected fervor . . . Namely Sheena Fujibayashi from Bracket A and Rydia of Mist from Bracket B. The following statement is not intended to objectify the fairer sex, nor isolate its importance to mere physical terms, but:

Also, I just realized how many rounds this competition is destined to have, and I should really begin preserving some of the commentary for when it really counts. :erm:

1. Mmmm . . . :\ Marle I guess. Typical to Toriyama artwork, almost every female ends up resembling Bulma, and Marle's personality is a major deterrent for anyone in possession of enough intelligence to appreciate just how shallow her own obstacles in the Trigger plot were (throwing tantrums in hopes of shaking off her persona of royalty) :roll2, but . . . :erm: Yeah, Dizzy loses more points for character design. There are non-degrading ways to showcase relative nudity of the female form, but they require innovative character design, at least some amount of practicality, and subtlety as warranted. Dizzy, in short, is an exhibit.

2. Yuna. You are a perplexing, depraved individual, Wolf. :erm: Now, obviously Enix went more than a little crazy with their intended character design ("see how many clothes we can make the spirited girl remove and still retain the look of innocence" :roll2), and I will register my disapproval for those damned hot pants. I have evidently never seen the full version of this image, as I had assumed that Yuna had traded her ceremonial robes for jean cutoffs. Nevertheless, I like the wavy aspects of the hair (and that absurdly long braid is undeniably cool :cool:) , the one-sided feathery skirt, and though it is not visible, her torso is adorned with a symbol many of you will find familiar.

3. Lulu; a rare success at an attractive "Gothic" appearance. In the cinematic sequences of FFX, the details of the neckline fur really shine (the whole "inundation of bosom" thing is somewhat questionable as far as someone choosing to wear such a garment goes, but I honestly prefer it to the nun that is her competition :roll2), and ridiculous thought the belt skirt is, it does permit a glance at the lacy details on the inner leg, providing a nice contrast between heft and delicacy.

Schala always was partial to longer hair, and it suits her "reincarnation" well. ;) Shame that her in-game avatar showcased an almost "redneck", short-haird appearance, though. :/ Nevertheless, this image I find captivating. The full explanation will be reserved for future rounds.

5. Ming, for reasons inadvertently stated during the last bracket . . . :laugh:

6. Fran; intense expression, nice hair, and, oddly enough, a very cool shoe design. :erm: The armor design is not entirely ridiculous (protects some of the vital areas), though I cannot imagine what purpose Enix invented for her culture to necessitate a crotch veil . . . :eep:

7. Quistis Trepe, although Elika is certainly not unattractive. Quistis' combination of pale skin, glasses, and a black-blue-dominated color scheme works really quite well.

8. Trish. Yes, she is an intentional sexual object, but she is a temptress with good reason, I suppose. :/

1. Alright, Rikku, time to say “die”; Sialeeds earns my vote. I previously called the woman’s character design on an unprecedented level of sluthood, but you know, with additional focus in the eyes, a slight smirk, and decidedly without her pelvis thrust in your face, she is quite alright, in her way. I have an enormous affinity for trenchcoats, and though her variation is a half-trench at best, the new pose draws quite a sexy parallel between the relative lengths of her hair and coat.

2. Sheena Fujibayashi; the woman cannot be threatened by her competition in the least. Just a crazily alluring synthesis of softness and sharpness (better showcased in the original concept art of her introduction to the tournament, but captured sufficiently here *Shrug*). Crazy beautiful, Sheena. :erm:

3. KOS-MOS. Give it up, Yukiko; blue hair and a sleek character design (skintight black in certain places, reflective white and blue in others) rule you utterly.

4. Lyndis; the katana-wielding woman done properly. Not a great deal to say about Talim; if there is a nonchalant vote in this round, this is it.


Bracket B

1. Samus Aran, although not necessarily due to the newest pair of images. :erm: In the end, I am convinced that Samus is the far more useful woman. Unlike Zelda, whose fragility (up until the introduction of Sheik, I understand) has historically marked her as helpless victim and trophy, Samus needs no one. At least as far as her early-platform titles are concerned, she has invariably operated solo, surviving entirely on her own grit. That she should be quite an attractive female beneath that imposing suit of armor is irrelevant to her overall character, as the skintight Zero Suit is certainly not for anyone else’s benefit, but can certainly impress the rest of us. In general, she does not need you, and it makes her all the more attractive. You may feel free to desire her, and she you, but do not fool yourself into believing that dependence will ever cross her mind. Samus, the fates salivate for thee. :love:

2. Mm; the lone difficult choice to be made here. ‘Tis a shame to let go of Elly, but Rydia was a stunning enough surprise in the previous round that she still retains the benefit of my unquestioning admiration. Elly may be a physical beauty, what with the dark tights and immodest uniform, but Rydia (particularly given the new artwork) is a goddess in both physical and ethereal terms. :cool: That melancholy gaze is at once captivating and daunting, causing you to wonder what you have done to warrant it.

3. Tifa Lockheart. Why in hell is von Karma still here? :laugh: I have yet to see the image in which the bow-tied, blandly uniformed woman is attractive in a minor sense, let alone to the extent of an Advent Children-quality Tifa.

4. Celes Chere. Although Wolf’s image was not necessary for the victory (Ayla has no business being in the running this long, frankly), it certainly gives the eyes cause to open slightly wider. :erm: The extravagant, vaguely Old French motif works wonders for the woman’s wraithlike pallor, and she certainly seems at home in rich shades of crimson and subdued shades of blue.

2. Oh, definitely Schala Zeal. I find Reco ridiculously unappealing in the latest image, but she is certainly no heiress to Zeal even at the best of times. Some of the best hair ever, bar none. Seems like it may be "farewell to Schala" this time, though. :cry: Here is to the woman who was probably the only contender clothed from neck to toes to pass through the tournament. :p

3. Somewhat of a more difficult choice this time, actually; Rinoa is definitely the more attractive woman, but this particular image of Chun-Li is an undeniably awesome one. Rinoa it is, but kudos to Chun-Li for putting up a considerably improved fight.

4. Lara Croft; very much an anti-Tira vote, as, frankly, "ugly" is not too strong a word for our Soul Caliber contender. :yuck: Having some difficulty pinning down precisely why I feel this way, but most likely it is linked to the manner in which, viewed from the right angle, the mascara and lipstick spell out the word "prostitute" in size 3 font . . .

Yuna, as my efforts to comprehend how the other creature may be considered remotely attractive continue to fail. :mad: The latest Dizzy image is really quite vile; you cannot fuse an attempt at cuteness with a prodigious achievement of skankiness and expect an attractive result. Other Dizzy images have failed to change my mind on the matter, whereas Yuna at least retains the odd attractive attribute (see: braid, half-skirt, torso emblem and subsequently lightly revealed torso).

And yes, had I actually noticed the nomintion thread before it was too late, I'd totally have nominated them. Then again, it's a "visual novel". In a sense, it's just as much if not more of a novel than a game. You read 98% of the game, the other 2% are situations where you make choices. And had any "visual novel character" been fine, I know quite a few more that I'd have nominated. :jokey:

...then again, there are also an actual FSN fighting video game (Fate/Unlimited Codes) for the PS2, so even if VN's are excluded, I guess Rin and Rider could have been legal characters to include. Ah well, too late for that now I guess.:greenie:

2. Kos-Mos (XenoSaga series) - This is probably just due to the quality of pictures. Lyn could have snatched this, but I felt that Kos-Mos had much better pictures.

2. Celes Chere - I don't really understand Tifa's appeal outside of her measurements. Her outfits tend to be bland and overly simple and I feel she's more about her physical assets than any real beauty. Celes is drawn in a beautiful light, and once again, she is given a really good air of mystery with some of her drawings. I find this more enticing and sexy than a girl who could be an extra bimbo on The Fast and the Furious :roll2

1. Reco - Tear looks too anime generic for my taste and everytime I see her picture she reminds me of a dozen other characters. Reco is chosen only cause she is different. This was a tough choice cause I don't care for either.

2. Rinoa - Once again, she's chosen as the lesser of two evils. Rinoa is pretty plain in my book but Tira is kinda gaudy and tonight I'm not in the mood for kinky so I'll choose the girl next door though I disagree that she should make it to the next bracket. She has won despite being against more deserving candidates.

1. Lulu - I like Dizzy but Lulu carries more qualities I find attractive in a woman. I like Dizzy more as a character but this is about attractiveness so Lulu will win for me.

1. Sheena Fujibayashi. KOS-MOS and Rydia are her only possible rivals at this point. I do not anticipate such decisions fondly.

2. KOS-MOS. One of the primary goddesses of this competition. Physically, her designs are diverse but invariably sexy, and in terms of how her personality is cast, she runs the full gamut of cold ruthlessness to emphatic tenderness throughout the Xeno plot. She is not going anywhere, at least until the final round, as far as I can tell.

1. Rydia of Mist. The lady is still an etheral vision. Samus is an extremely physical beauty (somewhat pneumatically so), but she does not come anywhere close with her many positive attributes to the multiple levels on which Rydia is beautiful.

2. Celes Chere, because my reaction to Tifa is severely mixed, and I have been convinced that Celes can be cast in quite an attractive light.

Actually, Mitsuru's Persona (which is a reflection of her true self) is wearing bondage gear and uses a whip. ;)

Quistis is the type who would tease about being kinky and then leave you hanging cause she just wants to marry you and have you move next door to her mother and raise a family. Mitsuru on the other hand... well she does drive a motorcycle and has a real "wild side".

God damn it, Proto, what is your problem? :frust: You are forcing a tragedy with either outcome, and the loser does not even have the consolation of having reached the final round. By all means, pit Magus against Albedo in a duel for godhood, but save it for the climactic moment; do not follow it up with a battle against Illidan Stormrage or something! It is a cruel world you have crafted, Proto; you had better be very certain that you are Messiah enough to have a horde of zealots at your command at a moment's notice before you dare press us further. :nonono:

EDIT: On second thought, that may have sounded more abrasive than intended, and my humor has a history of misinterpretation :laugh:; completely fabricated rage. All in good fun, as far as I'm concerned. ^_^


Bracket A - A Goddess Falls :(

1. Damn you, damn your bracket design, and damn your clothing line. :mad: Forget the cosplayers; neither one is on par with the source material (although the KOS-MOS girl at least has the facial features to do a decent approximation), and neither it nor Ultima Shadow's images showcase what is, in my eyes, her ultimate outfit. The Xenosaga I design is certainly high-quality in its way, but the final Xenosaga III design is far too blatant a "bunny" reference for me. :roll2 On that note, in Ultima Shadow's third KOS-MOS image, what is with the extra flesh? Is that supposed to be her derrière? :laugh: Sheena is the unexpected divinity of the tournament, as I see it (paralleled by Rydia in this way; that is another choice to be made *_*), but . . . velvety with a steel edge though her design makes her, Sheena cannot stand with KOS-MOS in terms of hair, or complexity and dynamism of appearance overall.

In the end, who could I see most congruously standing at my side, as both complement and independent converse to my own presence? Get a nice wind going, my open trenchcoat and KOS-MOS' hair? Beautiful. :cool: KOS-MOS.

No choice to be made here; walk forth to your nemesis -- the spirit of Mary Magdalene herself. ;) Still goes back to the Advent Children-quality cinematic Rydia model for me; those Sephiroth eyes just add too much complexity to her daintiness to be challenged by Celes' vaguely Medieval appeal.

1. Rinoa Heartilly. Yes; that cosplayer can make the outfit work, too. :erm: Bottom line: Tear has consistently possessed that look of a bored child in every image I have seen. I know little of either character (no, I have not invested the necessary ten minutes on Wikipedia :eep:), but judging by what personality is implied by character design and aesthetic style alone, Rinoa, while simpler, expresses more of what I am interested in hearing.

1. Lulu. Actually saw a cosplayer of at least equal charm at a Video Games Live concert earlier this year (go live Chrono suite, and "One Winged Angel" finale! :frust:). Irrelevant to my actual vote, but perhaps noteworthy nonetheless. In general, Lulu is the far more distinctive woman as far as aesthetics go; her outfit basically eliminates any possibility of agile movement, making her an altogether different woman to handle than virtually any contender in the tournament. This is a lady with power enough at her fingertips to have the enemy falling ruined about her feet, with minimal movement between point A and B. Uniqueness counts, and again, Mitsuru's design is a void of said substance.
